The Vice President, Client Services will function as the lead for a group of HCP professional promotion accounts. Your team will include cross-functional colleagues and direct reports, with clear alignment and partnership between Client Services, Scientific Services, Creative, Digital, Editorial, and Finance groups. The role will include active participation in weekly client calls, strategic and tactical planning sessions with client leadership, supervision and coaching of experienced direct reports to ensure flawless execution of deliverables, financial forecasting to align with overall company goals and budget management. You will function as a dynamic leader for the company, serving as the primary client lead and managing a cross-functional internal staff for the execution of multiple initiatives.

 

You will represent for the client the strategic vision and cohesion needed to help them achieve their business imperatives. Additionally, your ideas and contributions will play a meaningful role in defining the identity of the Company to the client and will drive organic growth of our business. You will also play an active role in our company’s strategic growth plan, including new business identification and pitch efforts, as well as resource allocations that enhance the Company’s success. You will participate in strategic partnerships across our Holding Company network, and you will play an active role as a coach and mentor to junior colleagues to secure their professional growth and enable the Company to continue to promote from within and retain key talent. 

 

What You Will Do:

  • Lead the development, communication, and implementation of HCP promotional accounts by driving effective strategic growth strategies to align and advance client and business initiatives and revenue objectives
  • Be an ambassador for HCG, engaging in broader thinking, recommending and leading internal meetings/training/task forces to better the entire company, and driving client business
  • Own business component, strategic, and financial relationships across clients and hold responsibility for external/internal relationships and resolutions
  • Proactively and continuously propose new business and new ideas to clients to expand business offerings through organic growth strategies
  • Participate in new business pitches and RFP development
  • Perform overall account analysis and act to enhance profitability through operational changes, staffing changes, client renegotiations
  • Proactively and independently own financial forecasts, revenues, profitability, and growth of accounts 
  • Direct and manage account staff, overseeing execution of all account initiatives from inception through completion
  • In partnership with HR, own full career path guidance, recruiting, staffing, capacity planning, and retention strategies, including career development and talent mapping

 

Requirements:

  • Degree in life science or degree in liberal arts, marketing or communications, with a strong appreciation for HCP promotion and pharmaceutical marketing
  • 8+ years of pharma/healthcare agency experience, working in professional HCP promotion (including both personal non-personal promotion) and promotional medical communications preferred
  • Demonstrated understanding of brand messaging, working in a global to local market approach and congress engagement strategies
  • Ability to partner with creative to deliver compelling work (write creative briefs, evaluate creative, etc.)
  • Comprehension of medical terminology  
  • Extensive experience with MLR reviews and requirements; Able to evaluate content for approvability
  • Availability and willingness to travel
  • Strategic acumen and consultative client management experience
  • Previous success leading client business coupled with prior supervisory experience and the ability to motivate others to attain goals

This position requires a hybrid (at least three days in the office each week) work schedule and must be based out of our New York NY, Stamford CT, or Philadelphia PA office. Fully remote work is not an option.

The salary range for this position is $145,000 - $225,000. This range represents the low and high end of the salary someone in this role may earn as an employee of the Healthcare Consultancy Group in the United States. Salaries will vary based on various factors, including, but not limited to, professional and academic experience, training, responsibilities of the position, and other business and organizational needs. The range listed is just one component of our total compensation package for employees. Salary decisions are dependent on the circumstances of each hire.
