OverviewThe VP, Data Growth is responsible for driving growth through data strategies, leveraging technology, and marketing innovations to expand customer acquisition, engagement, and revenue. This role requires a strategic leader with deep expertise in data acquisition, analytics and governance. The VP, Data Growth supports sales pursuits through direct outbound hunting activities, forging close relationships with partners and responding to inbound leads. The VP will work closely with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities, expand market reach, and position the company as a leader in data-driven consulting solutions.
Responsibilities
- Achieve annual pipeline generation, and sales revenue targets.
- Identify, lead, and close Velir prospective client opportunities throughout the entire sales lifecycle.
- Develop and implement data growth strategies aligned with business goals.
- Establish, manage, and grow relationships with key executives and stakeholders.
- Lead and mentor data sales teams to ensure sales targets are achieved.
- Thoughtfully prospect and qualify opportunities related to AI, data strategy, analytics and data management services.
- Analyze sales performance metrics, identify areas for improvement and adjust strategies.
- Collaborate with different departments across Velir, working side-by-side with multiple team members and being the "connector" that enables cross-functional sales.
- Support partner and alliances sales strategy by maintaining and building strong relationships across the partner ecosystem.
- Determine and drive key partner revenue goals based on input from overall market strategy, market growth goals, and practice focus areas.
- Monitor industry trends and competitor strategies to stay ahead of market shifts.
- Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement in data sales strategies.
- Handle supplementary duties as necessary.
Skills & Qualifications
- 10+ years’ experience in sales, client services or revenue growth roles
- Strong understanding of data management technologies, data modeling, and analytics tools (e.g. SQL, Snowflake, Databricks, DBT, Tableau, Power BI).
- Proven track record of driving significant revenue growth through executive level client relationships in support of solving complex business problems.
- Excellent leadership, strategic thinking, and analytical skills.
- Ability to speak to all levels of prospective clients, strategic and tactical decision makers.
- Strong communication competency and the ability to effectively convey information, ideas, and emotions in various contexts, including verbal, non-verbal, written, interpersonal, adaptability, conflict resolution and presentation skills.
Physical Requirements
- Frequent sitting at a desk performing work on a computer.

- Regular travel is required.
Compensation Range: $185,000 - 200,000 annually, with 1% commission on sold new new data work for a 12 month period.
Please note that compensation packages are finalized after the interview process is concluded. We use a competency-based approach to base pay, which means it is based on the competencies and skills demonstrated for this role.
