Job Description
Information about the Role, Line of Business and Team:
We are currently seeking to hire a VP Compliance to join our Accident and Health Legal, Regulatory & Compliance department. The role is responsible for leading the Compliance functions for Crum & Forster’s A&H division by driving, developing, and maintaining an effective compliance program for all Life and Accident & Health products marketed through multiple distribution channels, both domestically and internationally.
The role shall provide strategic leadership in a demanding environment to support the A&H Division’s growth goals in transforming regulatory guidance regarding product development and policy issuance and product development lifecycles by partnering with stakeholders, making viable recommendations, presenting solutions to drive change within the A&H Division that minimizes risk, while achieving goals without compromising compliance and/or regulatory requirements.
The role will provide leadership as a consensus builder for internal and external stakeholders by informing, providing guidance and proposing practical and effective solutions to address any compliance and/or regulatory challenges. This role shall also oversee the advertising review process.
The role shall drive strategies and plans to stay abreast of regulatory and compliance issues affecting the A&H Division’s product lines.
What you will do:
- Manage compliance staff and assigned resources responsible for core compliance functions critical to regulatory and compliance performance of the organization
- Coordinate development and implementation of business policies and procedures to ensure compliance
- Perform analyses of the Company’s regulatory compliance and develops recommended compliance solutions
- Responsible for providing ongoing coaching, supervision, and development of compliance department staff
- Manage the development of compliant products to support business objectives and initiatives
- Act as a product resource to ensure A&H growth and diversification initiatives
- Develop and implement necessary state filing strategies
- Manage internal product filing resources; retain and manage filing consultants as needed
- Perform internal audits to ensure compliance
- Remain abreast of emerging industry trends/ issues and recommend/implement changes to processes.
- Research of complex compliance issues and provide concise timely technical responses to ensure compliance and business objectives are being met
- Monitor the performance of the compliance program and related activities on a continuing basis, taking appropriate steps to improve its effectiveness and ensure training and awareness
- Manage and oversee advertising compliance
- Operate as a partner with the business team, not only as an advisor, but also by working together to find solutions to successfully achieve the business goals and objectives while maintaining compliance risk and mitigating exposures; and
- Other special projects as required.

Requirements:
- 15 years of equivalent work experience in an Accident and Health insurance regulated industry.
- JD is a plus
- Experience with Accident and Health, Travel Insurance, Life Insurance, Affinity products; experience with Occupational Risk a plus.

Salary ranges are available for all positions at this location, taking into account roles with a comparable level of responsibility and impact in the relevant labor market and these salary ranges are regularly reviewed and adjusted in accordance with prevailing market conditions. The annualized base pay for the advertised position, located in the specified area, ranges from a minimum of $95,600.00 to a maximum of $179,600.00. The actual compensation is determined by various factors, including but not limited to the market pay for the jobs at each level, the responsibilities and skills required for each job, and the employee’s contribution (performance) in that role. To be considered within market range, a salary is at or above the minimum of the range. You may also have the opportunity to participate in discretionary equity (stock) based compensation and/or performance-based variable pay programs.
