Do you inspire and lead high-performing, curious and creative teams?  The Vice President of Communications will be responsible for the transformation of our communications strategy, claiming EFE’s rightful position as the leader in financial planning. You will bring our company story to life through compelling storytelling and content that serves to educate and connect with people to move their finances forward. You will lead an in-house team of communications professionals and our agencies to deliver differentiated, authentic, and confidence-inspiring content. You’ll guide our approach to building EFE-owned assets to drive earned media and thought leadership while inspiring our collective organization to consistently communicate in trust-inspiring and impactful ways. Our company is built on a legacy of engaging and educational content that established us as the brand of choice for everyday Americans looking to understand and get help with their financial goals. • Create and drive our editorial direction and point of view, distributed through a content platform that delivers scaled awareness, engagement, and preference for EFE amongst our target audience
• Influence and inform our messaging and content strategy to deliver breakthrough and compelling content
• Casting, coaching and cultivating our roster of financial planners as a foundation to our authentic content; collaborating with executives and partners to deliver corporate communications goals
• Innovate and be responsible for an earned media strategy that reaches and engages our target audiences and elevates our profile and awareness through social and PR channels; establish disruptive influencer strategies to expand our reach
• Inspire innovation in content creation, distribution, and engagement harnessing emerging trends, standard processes, and technology
• Develop and maintain relationships with key opinion leaders, industry stakeholders and journalists to amplify our messages and content
• Lead and develop your team, making “build vs buy” decisions with people, agencies and vendors to deliver best-in-class results

 Requirements:

• 15+ years in communications roles, with an emphasis on editorial content creation, building content platforms, and influencing organizations to drive breakthrough messaging in crowded fields
• Experience in consumer finance and, ideally, in wealth management with mass affluent audiences
• Demonstrated curiosity, agility and ability to solve problems creatively and in partnership with others
• Inspires and catalyzes high-performing teams with purpose
• Extensive knowledge of using research, content, and relationships to drive organic reach through PR, social, influencer channels and partnerships to drive thought leadership
• A scrappy and agile approach that excels in a fast-paced, high velocity environment
• A partnership approach that brings people together, aligns across functions, focuses on influencing and celebrating team wins
• Excellent leadership, influence. and communications skills

 Edelman Financial Engines takes a market-based approach to pay. The expected base salary range for this role nationally is $224,400 - $299,200. However, final base pay will be carefully determined based on several factors, including responsibilities, job-related skills, relevant experience, geographic location, and market conditions.
