Summary: The Department of Accounting and Information Systems at New Mexico State University is seeking to fill a 9-month, non-tenure track Visiting Assistant Professor in the area of Information Systems.
Classification Summary:
The Department of Accounting and Information Systems at New Mexico State University is seeking to fill a 9-month, non-tenure track Assistant Professor in the area of Information Systems. The position is preferred to be on campus, however fully remote candidates will be considered. The position will start August 18, 2025. Position is renewable on an annual basis.
Classification Standard Duties:
The position carries a course load of 12 credit hours per semester. Online course delivery (asynchronous or synchronous) is also expected. The successful candidate will have responsibilities in teaching students enrolled in the NMSU campus. The successful candidate is expected to contribute to an educational environment that supports learning for individuals from diverse backgrounds.
Required Education, Experience, Certification/License, Equivalency
Candidates are required to hold a Masters degree or Ph.D. in Information Systems or a related area from an AACSB business-accredited school, although candidates with degrees from other well-recognized and accredited schools (e.g., ABET accreditation) offering degrees in related disciplines may be considered. Candidates must have at least 5 years of relevant professional experience or have completed their doctoral program in the previous 5 years.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
The candidate should be able to teach undergraduate courses in Information Systems.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
The successful candidate is expected to:
i) teach undergraduate information systems courses,
ii) contribute to curriculum development,
iii) support departmental outcome assessment efforts and accreditation processes,
iv) assist with achieving students’ success outcomes.
