About the role

The Video Editor will work with the Senior Video Editor, Executive Post Producer, Creative Directors, Art Directors, Designers and Copywriters to translate the creative vision into flawless storytelling. Day-to-day editing will be your main focus, with light motion graphics work depending on the project. You'll help craft innovative, visually engaging brand content, while owning the technical demands of various platforms and formats. Working closely with Zillow Marketing, you'll build content that resonates with and empowers our audience.

Core responsibilities:

  • Strong interpersonal and file management skills.

  • Ability to maintain a smooth, cohesive narrative throughout the edit.

  • Experience editing both long-form and short-form content.

  • Skill in selecting and editing appropriate music for the project.

  • Expertise in sound design.

  • Deliver audio and video to meet the specific requirements of digital platforms.

  • Build and implement visual elements like lower thirds, title cards, and interstitial graphics.

  • Proficient in color correction and grading.

  • Understanding of review processes and collaboration with the creative team.

  • Export final edits in various formats for different platforms.

  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently to meet project do-dates.

  • Run multiple project iterations while maintaining a clean workflow.

  • Problem-solving skills to address challenges in footage (e.g., missing shots, technical glitches).

  • Research tools and technologies to improve post-production quality and efficiency.

  • Provide insights into brand and company trends.

  • Collaborate with the Post-Production team to refine workflows and media management.

This role has been categorized as a Remote position. “Remote” employees do not have a permanent corporate office workplace and, instead, work from a physical location of their choice, which must be identified to the Company. U.S. employees may live in any of the 50 United States, with limited exceptions.

In California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Nevada, New York, Washington state, and Washington DC the standard base pay range for this role is $88,200.00 - $140,800.00 Annually. This base pay range is specific to California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Nevada, New York, Washington state, and Washington DC and may not be applicable to other locations.

In addition to a competitive base salary this position is also eligible for equity awards based on factors such as experience, performance and location. Actual amounts will vary depending on experience, performance and location.

Who you are

  • 5+ years of experience as a Video Editor in an ad agency or brand environment; production company experience is a bonus.

  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere, After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator, and Firefly) and Figma.

  • Committed self-starter with strong listening skills.

  • Ability to think and express ideas both strategically and tactically.

  • Well-organized with excellent follow-through.

  • Capable of working under tight timelines and running multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Adaptable to change and conscientious.

  • Strong delegation skills while maintaining responsibility and authority.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills.

  • Committed to achieving goals and taking ownership.

  • Ability to constructively interpret multiple rounds of feedback with aplomb.

  • Some travel may be required.

  • Bachelor’s degree in production or a related field preferred but not required.
