What you will be doing:

The Vice President, Strategic Sourcing is responsible for leading specific sourcing teams with a primary focus on ongoing portfolio competitiveness and member value creation. This position will set the strategy and lead the team focused on best in market value and innovative contracting strategies utilizing technology solutions, market intelligence and benchmark data to ensure continuous value is delivered via Strategic Sourcing. The Vice President will be the strategic and operational leader responsible for determining best alignment of People, Process, and Technology, and how to execute on requirements for Strategic Sourcing and other areas Premier.

The Vice President will lead the team mentioned above as well as other similar strategic initiatives developed via the sourcing strategy sessions in the future. Under this Vice President’s direction, the team(s) will deliver timely high-quality products that lead to overall portfolio and member growth. Enabled by business intelligence tools and other resources, this position will focus on developing and implementing operational and technology strategies designed to improve cost, value analysis, resource utilization, and internal customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

Responsibility #1– 60%

Supply Chain Strategy and Leadership
       •     Leads in development and deployment of all initiatives
including system vision and tactics to meet the objectives that improve Supply Chain Services goals.
       •     Oversees deployment of core supply chain contracting offering
to best position Premier and its members.
       •     Lead supply chain action plans and financial preparation discussions to support best practices.
       •     Have a coordinated approach in leading an evolving contracting model by establishing a contracting roadmap that people, process and technology.
       •     Develop, engage, and empower a team of highly skilled negotiators and analytical specialists.

Responsibility #2 – 20%

       •     Serve as a though leader in process improvement so as to ensure ongoing value to members both new and current
       •     Focus on new opportunities to develop tools to enhance both member and supplier experience.
       •     Develop next generation leaders.

Responsibility #3 – 20%

Process Improvement / Quality Improvement / Innovation
       •     Analyze issues and problems and work to develop solutions to implement improved supply chain processes and service
       •     Participate in and/or lead operational improvement projects that integrate supply chain activities with quality outcomes to ensure a culture of continuous improvement.
       •     Establish and maintain a robust QA program across Strategic Sourcing to ensure ongoing accuracy.
       •     Participate in voice of the customer surveillance through rounding, surveying, and complaint management to identify opportunities for improvement in the customer experience and gaps between supply gain, service lines, other departments, and members.
       •     Work with all teams and subordinates to seek out new and novel processes, technologies, or techniques to advance our business.

Working Conditions: Remote


 

Travel Requirements: Travel 21-40% within the US


 

Physical Demands: Sedentary: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves remaining stationary most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if movement is required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met.


 

Premier’s compensation philosophy is to ensure that compensation is reasonable, equitable, and competitive in order to attract and retain talented and highly skilled employees. Premier’s internal salary range for this role is $155,000 - $289,000. Final salary is dependent upon several market factors including, but not limited to, departmental budgets, internal equity, education, unique skills/experience, and geographic location. Premier utilizes a wide-range salary structure to allow base salary flexibility within our ranges.
