ABOUT THE JOB

The VP, Compliance is responsible for leading the compliance team to operate an effective compliance program. This leader is responsible for creating the culture of compliance within the company and creating the infrastructure and process for effective reporting of compliance concerns and effective oversight by the Board and senior executive team. Additionally, the VP, Compliance is responsible for identifying and assessing areas of compliance risk and developing and implementing plans to reduce risk and maintain compliance. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Structure and maintain a 7-element compliance program. 
  • Report to the Governance & Risk Committee quarterly. 
  • Serve as the company’s Compliance Officer and chair of Compliance Committee. 
  • Strategically advising on compliance for new product development. 
  • Serve as the company Privacy Officer for HIPAA purposes. 
  • Create systems and processes for ensuring compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, CLIA, state scope of practice and supervision rules, etc. 
  • Develop and drive effective education and communication of compliance policies.  
  • Drive organizational cohesion such that privacy and security policies align with the operational needs of the organization while ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations and are uniformly implemented throughout the organization.  
  • Develop a culture of compliance such that all teammates are comfortable raising and reporting privacy concerns and incidents in a timely manner while knowing that such reporting is made in a safe environment free from retaliation for good faith reporting.  
  • Investigate and analyze all potential HIPAA breaches. 
  • Maintain all compliance policies and procedures. 
  • Monitor compliance reporting, conduct investigations and document compliance reports. 
  • Advise regarding and support annual SOC2 compliance audit. 
  • Annual auditing of company compliance matters and adherence to procedures. 

QUALIFICATIONS

Juris Doctor (JD) required plus at least 8 years of healthcare compliance program experience. Experience with medical groups and ambulatory care settings, preferred. Proven track record in the areas of compliance auditing and monitoring, investigation, risk assessment, enforcement and formulation of comprehensive audit policies, programs and plans.

Pay Range: $190,000 - $240,000/yr

The actual offer may vary dependent upon geographic location and the candidate’s years of experience and/or skill level. This position is also eligible for an annual incentive.
