Job Summary:

 

The Vice President of Finance position provides functional oversight and leadership that supports ESFM in driving growth and efficiencies, including:

  • Facilitating the sector's planning and analysis
  • Fostering a high-performance culture through continuous improvement and innovation
  • Building and leveraging effective customer relationships to achieve business objectives
  • Championing our safety culture & performance
  • Partnering with President / Division Presidents / RVPs / Finance Directors and Corporate functions to improve financial results, taking a lead in business strategy and all commercial matters

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Provide support to the President in all financial matters, while assisting in driving Sector strategy and growth plans
  • Cover all commercial and client matters in relation to the sector, understanding the intricacies of key contracts while working with the Finance Directors to increase value
  • Proactively highlight and manage risks and opportunities associated with the sector, ensuring these are given the appropriate attention by operations
  • Thorough attention to detail and being highly analytical, alerting CFO of key issues on a timely basis and maintaining regular communication.
  • Drive efficiencies working across finance / commercial teams through system and process improvements
  • Support Finance Directors and Controllers in month end reporting / training and reporting
  • Assist in new business reviews while challenging key assumptions and complete post project appraisals to review actual vs estimates
  • Completion of Adhoc Analysis and look for P&L and BS opportunities to drive profitability
  • Responsible for ensuring accurate and timely corporate reporting, including coordinating of Budgets, Forecasts and 3 year plan process for the sector
  • Cultivate productive working relationships at all levels, which support the nurturing of internal and external relationships, facilitates collaboration trust and respect, values differences and diversity

Strategic Responsibilities:

 

  • Work closely with the VP Finance to develop long-term plans, including the annual 3-year planning process.
  • In collaboration with the President, challenge the markets focus and business models adopted in the business, identifying opportunities for growth and efficiency.

 

Commercial Responsibilities:

 

  • Work closely with the VP Finance to develop long-term plans, including the annual 3-year planning process.

  • In consultation with the Finance Directors / Controllers, delivery of the management accounts, budgets, forecasts and 3-year plans for the country
  • Ensure that the month end process is as efficient as possible, and collaborate with Central support and to finalize processes
  • Be responsible for the production of benefit analysis of operational and financial metrics as well as provision of insights to key customers
  • Support new business process and review of models for group approval while ensuring adherence to the group approval manual.
  • Provide insightful, timely, accurate and relevant analysis to the business

Qualifications and Experience:

 

  • CA / CPA Qualified with 7-10 years’ experience
  • Experience in a Financial leadership (or similar) role within a large and complex business, either stand alone or division
  • Exposure to services or consumer facing businesses, ideally with a dispersed operating model. i.e. site based
  • Ability to travel approximately 30%
  • Experience in a finance role within facilities management strongly desired
  • Experience supporting financials of at least $500 million annually

 

Functional/ Technical Skills & Competencies:

 

  • Excellent communication and personal skills well suited to building business relationships internally and externally at a senior executive level
  • Ability to research key target markets and new opportunities, combined with sophisticated evaluation, reporting and decision-making skills with a results-driven focus
  • Proven experience in driving efficiencies in transactional processes
  • Demonstrated experience in delivering analytical tools and efficient reporting to Operations
  • Direct immersion in task delivery, creating and delivering content and a willingness to balance strategy with practical implementation
  • Confident in presenting solutions and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Ability to understand and apply existing and potential technologies to support business performance outcomes
  • Ability to work independently with general direction from leadership
  • Good time management skills
  • Strong work ethic
  • Resilient, robust and driven individual
