Vice President, Marketing - Mission Execution (Remote)

GA Atlanta

At the American Cancer Society, we're leading the fight for a world without cancer. Our employees and 1.5 million volunteers are raising the bar every single day. We actively seek candidates from diverse backgrounds including communities of color, the LGBTQ community, veterans, and people with disabilities. The greater the diversity of our people, the better we can serve our communities.

The people who work at the American Cancer Society focus their diverse talents on our lifesaving mission. It is a calling. And the people who answer it are fulfilled.

Advances the American Cancer Society's (ACS) mission, goals and objectives by leading a marketing strategy team aligned to drive forward initiatives from three of the four key organizational pillars of ACS, the discovery, patient support and advocacy pillars. Collectively these pillars deliver the mission execution of ACS.

The discovery and patient support pillars span ACS's intramural research (by ACS scientists) including population science research (proprietary, long-term study of individuals), extramural research (research grants given to scientists outside ACS), annual publication of Cancer Facts and Figures and support for patients including lodging (ACS operates 31 free Hope Lodges), free transportation, a 24/7 cancer support hotline.

In addition, the patient support team provides prevention and screening programs, education for patients and health care professionals, and convenes partners to advance cancer care.

The advocacy pillar, represented by the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network (ACS CAN), influences public policy at the local, state and federal levels. ACS CAN has been a critical contributor toward the enactment of landmark legislation by elevating the patient voice in issues critical to reducing the cancer burden.

All three pillars work together across the cancer continuum (e.g., from prevention to bereavement and survivorship). This marketing leader provides the full range of strategic counsel to the discovery/patient support/advocacy pillars including conceptualizing strategies, leading teams to develop action plans, overseeing integrated marketing planning, removing barriers and enabling execution to bring those strategies to fruition.

This is a remote opportunity that can be home based anywhere in the United States.
