Sanzaru Games is seeking an experienced VFX Artist to join our AAA game development team. Create stunning VFX for VR which transport and empower the player, enhance gameplay, and brings life into characters and environments.   • Create high fidelity, performant VFX assets.
  • Collaborate with Art, Design, and Engineering teams to iterate and polish VFX.
  • Maintain and adhere to a consistent art style provided by the project leads.
  • Optimize VFX based on gameplay and technical constraints.
  • Create and edit materials for shader-based VFX.
  • Implement VFX using Blueprint and Sequencer UE4 tools.
  • Clearly communicate updates and concerns with team members and lead artists.
  • Participate in research and development of latest tools, shaders, technology, and workflows.
  • Contribute to building internal community by encouraging artistic development, showcasing workflows, artistic techniques, providing quality feedback, and mentoring others.
  • Actively improve skillset by staying on top of industry trends and techniques, new software, and product evaluation.
Minimum Qualifications
  • 3+ years industry experience as a VFX artist in games.
  • Experience with composition and framing skills, including sense of scale, timing, form, texture and color.
  • Experience developing and maintaining a style language across multiple VFX.
  • Experience working in module or node-based scripting tools such as Unreal Engine's Cascade, Blueprints, and Material Editor.
  • Experience working with Maya and Photoshop.
  • Experience with current game-art pipelines and methodologies.
  • Experience troubleshooting software issues and learn on the fly.
  • Experience tackling challenges and problem solving with a sense of ownership.
  • Experience adapting and learning different art styles.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience creating art for VR/AR mediums.
  • Experience with Houdini, Substance Painter, Maya Fluids or similar.
  • Background in animation and/or traditional art.

US$130,000/year to US$180,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits

Individual compensation is determined by skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
