Ferguson is currently seeking qualified candidates for the Virtual Design Construction (VDC) Quality Control Specialist position. The VDC Quality Control Specialist is responsible for the review of VDC project models and deliverables to ensure the content is accurate, complete, constructable, and in accordance with the department’s standards.

The preference for this role is for the associate to work a hybrid/flexible schedule in Raleigh, Riviera Beach, FL, or Newport News.  However, remote candidates will be considered based on their ability to meet the qualifications of the position.  Please see below requirements for more information on hybrid work possibilities.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years VDC experience, including at least 2 years focused on review of trade specific (mechanical and plumbing) models and their associated deliverables.

  • Field Experience associated with plumbing, mechanical (hydronic and refrigeration), and HVAC (ductwork) preferred.

  • Displays solid VDC/BIM acumen.

  • Experience leading VDC and BIM projects

  • Ability to produce under tight timelines

  • Self-motivated and efficient at working both independently and collaboratively within a team.

  • Detail-oriented and able to efficiently manage multiple tasks simultaneously without direct supervision.

  • Strong written/verbal communication skills.

  • Detailed knowledge of current construction delivery methods, practices, and documentation.

  • Ability to actively listen, mentally visualize and then produce detailed 2D, 3D, 4D or 5D deliverables for use by internal and external clients.

  • Working knowledge of Navisworks coordination principles.

Responsibilities and Tasks:

  • Review VDC Revit models, Navisworks models, and deliverables for accuracy, completeness, and constructability.

  • Collaborate with internal project management, quality assurance team, and coordinators to ensure alignment of what is being delivered to external stakeholders.

  • Help management develop and implement quality control processes and procedures to maintain high levels of accuracy and increase project success rate.

  • Provide detailed record of repetitive issues to work in tandem with coordination management team for additional training opportunities.

  • Assist the VDC team in training best practices for modeling and coordinating to assist the construction process in the field.

Requirements for Remote Workers:

  • Remote candidates should be aware that our main offices are in the Eastern and Central time zones.  This may require schedule flexibility for onboarding, training, and team meetings.

  • The candidate must be flexible to work in the time zone based on the territory assigned.

  • Remote candidates must have high speed internet connection 

  • For candidates based in the general Raleigh, Riviera Beach, FL or Newport News markets, we offer a hybrid/flexible schedule with time in the office for in person meetings, training, and/or collaboration.

  • Candidates outside of these markets will be considered, pending their qualifications.

Pay Range:

Actual pay rate may vary depending upon location. The estimated pay range for this position is below. The specific rate will depend on a candidate’s qualifications and prior experience.

$4,799.70 - $7,791.30

Estimated Ranges displayed are Monthly for Salaried roles OR Hourly for all other roles.

This role is Bonus or Incentive Plan eligible.
