 The Utilization Management (UM) Project Management Lead supports program and project management from start to finish, including managing multiple work streams. The Project Management Lead works on problems of diverse scope and complexity ranging from moderate to substantial.

The UM Project Management Lead designs, communicates, and implements an operational plan for completing the program and partners with stakeholders offering strategic consulting and guidance project; monitors progress and performance against the project plan; takes action to resolve operational problems and minimize delays, and provides leadership to 2-3 Senior Project Managers supporting UM projects. Identifies, develops, and gathers the resources to complete the project. Prepares designs and work specifications; develops project schedules, budgets and forecasts; and selecting materials, equipment, project staff, and external contractors. Communicates with other leaders in the Clinical Shared Services and the PMO to understand interdependencies and interconnectivity across programs. Conducts meetings and prepare executive summaries to communicate the status of the project. Sets priorities, allocates tasks, and coordinates project staff to meet project targets and milestones. Advises executives to develop functional strategies (often segment specific) on matters of significance. Exercises independent judgment and decision making on complex issues regarding job duties and related tasks, and works under minimal supervision, uses independent judgment requiring analysis of variable factors and determining the best course of action.

Required Qualifications

  • 3 or more years of project leadership experience
  • 8 or more years of technical experience
  • Strong interpersonal skills to influence and spur cultural change, facilitate and enhance performance within a cross-functional environment
  • Experience maintaining and monitoring project plans, project schedules and budgets
  • Ability to put a project plan in place and see it through to completion
  • Experience problem solving and consultation within complex environments
  • Initiative, independent judgement and decision making
  • Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences

Preferred Qualifications

  • Project Management Certification
  • Experience in healthcare services
  • Six Sigma methodologies and Agile certification
