About the role

As a User Researcher, you'll be on a mission to help us redefine how our customers engage with their wealth and pensions. By delivering cutting-edge digital solutions, we empower individuals to take control of their financial future. 

In this role, you'll play a critical part in understanding our users, driving human-centred design, and ensuring our products meet real customer needs. You'll collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to create intuitive experiences which make financial decision-making simpler and more accessible.

What you'll be doing

  • Lead end-to-end user research initiatives, applying appropriate qualitative and quantitative methodologies to uncover insights.
  • Partner closely with product, design, and engineering teams to integrate user-centred thinking throughout the product development lifecycle.
  • Develop research plans, write discussion guides, and conduct interviews, surveys, usability tests, and ethnographic studies.
  • Translate research findings into actionable insights which inform product strategy and design decisions.
  • Build and maintain a deep understanding of our users, including their needs, behaviours, and pain points.
  • Synthesise complex data into clear and compelling narratives, presenting findings to cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Advocate for the voice of the customer, ensuring their perspective is embedded in decision-making processes.
  • Establish best practices in user research methodology and continuously refine research approaches.
  • Collaborate on rapid prototyping and iterative testing to validate design concepts and feature enhancements.
  • Mentor and support other team members in applying user research principles effectively.

About You

Your Experience
  • Proven experience as a user researcher, ideally within a fintech, financial services, or digital product environment.
  • Experience using UserTesting (or equivalent user research platforms)
  • Demonstrated ability to lead research initiatives and collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams.
  • Track record of translating research insights into tangible product and design decisions.
  • Experience conducting a variety of research methods to uncover user needs and pain points.
  • Familiarity with agile, iterative product development cycles.
  • Knowledge of the financial services industry, particularly wealth management or pensions, is a plus.
  • Previous experience presenting findings to stakeholders at various levels.
  • Understanding of customer behavior, market trends, and competitive analysis.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
