About the Team 

Responsible for overseeing the compliance, planning, and trade and customs due-diligence for GOAT Group, the Global Trade and Customs team is essential to each department and their respective business goals. The Trade and Customs team collaborates with stakeholders, both internal and external, to provide Customs Compliance training and ensure policies and import entry requirements are maintained and implemented according to US import requirements, local regulations, and corporate standards. 

GOAT is looking for a US Customs Compliance Manager who will play a key role in the Trade and Customs compliance team, responsible for building and managing GOAT’s Customs compliance program. This role will provide import compliance operational support and development for long term growth by implementing scalable Customs entry processes and audit activities. For new initiatives, you will provide your expertise, knowledge and analysis concerning auditing, classification, valuation, licensing requirements, partner government agency (PGA) implications, cost-savings initiatives, etc. In this role, you will collaborate with many cross functional business units, including Business Development, Legal, Logistics, Tax, and Accounting. 

In this role, you will:

  • Manage tariff classification by having knowledge of footwear, apparel, and accessories tariff classification
  • Supporting US Customs compliance and brokerage management; record keeping and CBP communication. CBP inquiries, Customs entries, Seizures, etc. 
  • Understanding of US CFR import invoice requirements; HTS, transaction values, IOR, and Incoterms
  • Maintenance of GOAT’s Global Trade Management System and Classifications; maintain multiple classification databases and perform system and regulations updates as they occur 
  • Conduct daily review of U.S. shipment entries for accuracy and collaborate with customs brokers to resolve discrepancies promptly 
  • Review of CIM for classification updates and make necessary update to ensure HTS for all SKUs are current
  • Support of trade compliance automation efforts 
  • Logistics and Delivery operations support 
  • Support delivery operations and help resolve daily import issues 
  • Works with logistics to determine classifications and commercial invoice creation of all marketing, business development, bulk shipments, and intracompany transfers of goods 
  • Support in-building US import Trade and Customs compliance and brokerage management
  • Support Seizure, CF 28 & 29 Customs Inquiries, and Duty Drawback program efforts
  • Understanding US CFR import invoice requirements 
  • Support full audits of carrier billing with focus on Incoterms and shipping routes 
  • Ensuring our logistics routes and terms are in line and monitor for excessive import fees
  • Storage, delivery exception charges that do not reflect the intention of our shipping routes 

We are looking for:

  • Minimum 8+ years of trade compliance experience 
  • History of creating systems to manage large amounts of data 
  • Ability to work directly with vendors in a professional and on-brand manner 
  • Very highly organized with demonstrated attention to detail 
  • Excellent verbal and written skills 
  • Taking minute data and providing a succinct overview 
  • Ability to consolidate and analyze data in both Excel 
  • A quick learner, a self-starter, able to work independently, and you're willing (and able) to handle the pressures of an increasing level of responsibility 
  • Team player with strong interpersonal skills and capable of partnering across various key stakeholders to communicate trade and customs requests and propose solutions 
  • Flexibility working on multiple projects and ability to deal with ambiguity

The hiring range for this position is below, plus benefits (401K, paid time off, dental, medical, vision, disability, life insurance options). To determine starting pay within the hiring range, we carefully consider a variety of factors, including primary work location, role/level, a candidate’s skills, experience, market demands, and internal parity. Hiring Range:$105,000—$131,000 USD
