Job Description

The Payroll Application Analyst reports to the University Payroll Manager.  Under indirect supervision, this role plays a pivotal role in implementing, configuring, and providing ongoing support for the payroll, timekeeping, and HCM system, focusing on payroll functionality.   Through collaboration, this role ensures accurate and timely payroll processing and payment to employees related to reporting and adherence to all payroll laws and regulations.  This role involves collaborating with stakeholders, configuring payroll processes, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring the accurate processing of payroll transactions. The Payroll Application Analyst will serve as a subject matter expert in payroll processes, working closely with cross-functional teams to optimize and enhance payroll functionality within the organization.  Additionally, the analyst will provide ad-hoc reporting, audit documentation, and servers as a WorkDay HRIS Administrator and support the payroll team and manager.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited College or University and five years of directly related payroll information services experience, Human Resources, or a related field.
  • Proven Workday experience with a focus on Payroll.
  • In-depth understanding of payroll processes, tax regulations, and compliance requirements.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Workday certification in Payroll is highly desirable.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with Workday Payroll implementation and configuration.
  • Knowledge of integrations between Workday and other HR or financial systems.
  • Familiarity with Workday Report Writer and calculated fields.
  • Understanding of security and permissions within the Workday system.
  • Ability to communicate professionally through all forms of communication (phone, email, in-person and any other means.

Additional Job Description

Minimum Requirements: A bachelor's degree in computer science or a related area and two years experience in computer system development and modification. Relevant experience may be substituted for the Bachelor's degree on a year for year basis.
