Job Summary

Supervise the activities of underwriters and coordinate their activities with internal and outside personnel. Operates within letter of authority for referral underwriting. All job duties and responsibilities must be carried out in compliance with applicable legal and regulatory requirements.

Job Responsibilities

  • Supervises, coordinates, and monitors activities and results of an underwriting team that includes multiple jurisdictions to obtain and ensure accurate, quality work while at the same time maintaining high production standards.
  • Schedules, priorities and distributes workflow of unit to ensure work is done in a timely fashion and all deadlines are met.
  • Provides guidance to agents and policyholders and provides technical guidance and expertise to underwriters. Acts as a liaison with other supervisors, branches and corporate departments with whom their unit interacts. Conducts agency visits as required by company standards.
