Undergraduate Research Assistant

Salary/Position Classification

• $16.00 hourly, Non-Exempt (Eligible for overtime)
• 10 hours per week
• 100% Remote Work Availability: No
• Hybrid Work Availability (requires some time on campus): No

Purpose of Position

This is a part-time, non-benefited position. Only UND students are eligible to be hired in this position.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Analyze galaxy cluster FITS images using ds9 and IRAF
• Map out spiral bar color profiles using CFHT, KPNO, and WINGS imaging data

Minimum Requirements

• Physics major or minor in the Department of Physics and Astrophysics
• Currently taking or have taken PHYS 110 (Introductory Astronomy)
• Enrolled in a minimum of 1 credit for the employed academic semester
• Successful completion of a Criminal History Background Check
