The Truterra Retail Lead will champion the account manager team and empower them to execute programs with their assigned accounts. The ideal candidate will collaborate with multiple levels of leadership at strategic accounts to provide thought leadership and planning support within the retailers’ team. The Retail Lead will be the expert on all retail offerings and is responsible for helping the team position programs and Truterra’s overall platform to our channel partners, with farmers. This position is remote/virtual. The ideal candidate will reside in the Midwest within drivable distance of row crops.
Responsibilities:
Retail Expertise & Program Positioning:
Serve as the expert on all retail offerings, understanding the intricacies of the market and the needs of channel partners.
Collaborate with the team to position programs and the overall platform effectively to channel partners, with a particular focus on engaging farmers.
Work closely with the account manager team to position programs strategically, ensuring alignment with client goals and objectives.
Lead the account manager team to engage retailers with value added discussions relating to grain flow, specifically downstream.
Innovate in the sales execution process, segmentation and prioritization of retailers and farmers
Team and Thought Leadership:
Champion and mentor the account manager team (4-5 direct reports), ensuring they are well-prepared and motivated to excel in their roles.
Foster a collaborative and high-performance team culture that aligns with the company's values and objectives.
Engage with multiple levels of leadership at strategic accounts to provide valuable thought leadership.
Stay abreast of industry trends, market dynamics, and emerging opportunities to guide the team effectively.
Relationship Management & Collaboration:
Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams to align strategies.
Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders at strategic accounts.
Act as a liaison between the company and clients, ensuring effective communication and satisfaction.
Drive conversations to engage retailers on downstream grain flow where applicable.
Required Experience:
- 4-year college degree (Bachelor’s) or equivalent work experience
- 8 or more years of experience in a sales, including experience with retail and grain - required
- Experience managing a sales or business development team - required
- Must have current and valid state driver’s license - required
- Ability to travel up to 50%, including evenings and some weekends; may require working long hours during peak season - required
- Working knowledge of agronomics + products - preferred
Hiring salary: $135,360 - $203,040
