Job Description:

BW Papersystems is looking for a skilled Traveling Industrial Controls Electrician who will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining electrical systems in industrial settings as well as for ensuring that all electrical work is done in compliance. The ideal candidate will be expected to troubleshoot and diagnose electrical problems, as well as read and interpret blueprints and schematics.

Regardless of your home location, this position involves visiting our customer sites within USA, Canada, and Mexico; to be drive the electrical installations of BW Papersystems manufactured equipment. We are searching for applicants with excellent people skills and an ambition to travel.

  • Read/comprehend tape measure, blueprints, schematics, electrical one-line drawings, technical drawings, work orders, instructions, and other relevant installation documentation.
  • Oversee onsite contractors to install wireway, pull wire, and cables.
  • Terminate control and instrumentation wire and cables.
  • Install and troubleshoot PLC's.
  • Install and troubleshoot AC and DC Drives.
  • Intermittently would conduct onsite electrical, mechanical, and electronic troubleshooting to determine cause for equipment malfunction and establish the necessary repairs or replacements utilizing visual inspection, test procedures and appropriate test equipment.
  • Coordinates with and provides technical support to internal project management, engineering, and other technicians for the purpose of completing projects/work orders efficiently.
  • Persistent, self-motivated, and self-assured style.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with team members, customers, and vendors of all levels.
  • Keep accurate records of work performed and maintain inventory of electrical equipment and supplies.
  • Understands the NEC and NFPA code and apply these standards to the work being performed.
  • Utilize strong problem-solving skills with a focus on risk elimination.
  • Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
  • Ability and willingness to travel 90%.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Maintain professional appearance and conduct.
  • Great Customer Service Skills.
  • Willingness to keep up with industry developments and advancements
  • Substantial training will be provided upon starting.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 

EDUCATION:                                                

  • 2-year technical school or 4-year college engineering degree preferred.
  • Prior industrial controls electrical work preferred.

EXPERIENCE:     

  • 5+ years of industrial electrical experience
  • Journeyman/Master Electrician preferred
  • Completion of a licensing program or equivalent training and experience (NCCER) preferred
  • Position requires an outstanding track record of successfully completed assignments and application of sound professional judgment.

Skills and Abilities: 

  • Strong organizational skills, accuracy, initiative, and detail orientated.
  • Must possess good communication skills, both verbal and written in English.
  • Must possess ability to work with assignments given in broad, general objectives and limits.
  • Able to proficiently use a PC, Microsoft Windows, and Microsoft Office suite.

COMPENSATION:

The approximate pay range for this position is $110,000-$150,000 annually. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate at the time of posting and may vary based on factors such as background, knowledge, skills, abilities, and geographic location of the position.
