Job Profile Summary:

The Transfer Evaluation Specialist will help determine program eligibility for admission by analyzing coursework and degrees presented by potential students and accurately recording the results on the student's record and associated WGU systems.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • The Transfer Evaluation Specialist is a professional individual contributor who will provide support in a variety of moderately complex responsibilities within a college-focused Transfer Evaluation Team.
  • The Transfer Evaluation Specialist will maintain many aspects of the academic record, including, but not limited to, understanding program eligibility for admission, analyzing student coursework for application to the student record, and accurately recording the results in the appropriate WGU systems.
  • The Transfer Evaluation Specialist will create and maintain all pertinent records in compliance with federal and state laws and university regulations and policies.  The associate will have solid attention to detail, be a team player, and be an independent contributor.
  • High-performing, experienced Transfer Evaluation Specialist may occasionally coach/mentor team members and assist colleagues from other teams and departments.
  • The work of the Transfer Evaluation Specialist requires analysis and evaluation of student records to determine applicable transfer credit based on predetermined standards.  A Transfer Evaluation Specialist is expected to collaborate with team leadership for assistance on highly complex matters.
  • The Transfer Evaluation Specialist is invited to suggest methods to improve student success and evaluation processes.
  • The Transfer Evaluation Specialist's work is critical to each prospective student's experience and success at WGU.
  • The Transfer Evaluation Specialist works individually and as part of a team to meet individual, team, and department objectives.
  • The Transfer Evaluation Specialist works effectively and reports worktime accurately.
  • With general direction from a supervisor/manager and process lead, the Transfer Transfer Specialist is self-managed, taking the initiative and acting independently in completing transfer evaluations consistent with standard practices and policies and our commitment to students (i.e., accurate, fair, helpful & quick).
  • When faced with an unexpected student event, the Transfer Evaluation Specialist is encouraged and expected to collaborate with other evaluators, process leads, and management as needed to make a fair determination of competency.
  • The Transfer Evaluation Specialist must be well connected and coordinated within their team, project teams, and any applicable cross-functional groups.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

  • Exercise independent judgment and discretion, particularly in matters relative to sensitive or confidential student records and organizational matters.
  • Collaborate with supervisor on department process improvement.
  • Stay current on available resources to support the academic success of students.

Job Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Requires a minimum of two years of experience in enrollment, admissions, or transfer administration.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Bachelor's degree or work experience related to college transcript evaluation will be considered as an alternative for a candidate with college experience but an unfinished degree.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Salesforce, Banner, and OnBase.
  • Experience with distance education and distance learning.
  • Experience working remotely.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

The salary range for this position takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.

At WGU, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their position, and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is:
 

Pay Range: $19.56 - $28.36
