Leidos is seeking a Training Specialist to join the National Airspace System Integration Support Contract (NISC IV) program, providing support to the Federal Aviation Administration’s (FAA), Air Traffic Organization’s (ATO) Employee Development Group (AJG-L3) to meet its commitments to internal customers, including the ATO’s Service Units.

The Training Specialist is responsible for assisting the customer by providing instruction for employee development programs, including demonstrating, explaining, and instructing students in the delivery of highly customized leadership and management development programs. They use instructional techniques, principles, or methods to support program delivery, including appropriate use of training aids, devices, simulators, or simulation. They apply Instructional Design principles in performing analyses, studies and research supporting the design and development of instructional materials to meet specific learning objectives. The candidate will be familiar with classroom-based and virtual learning media and with direction from the client and/or supervisor, they will be able to storyboard, prototype, and develop training materials that meet client requirements.

This position is 100% remote with up to 50%  travel required (as needed) to support program deployment/continuous improvement.

​Primary Duties include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Supporting all program activities and providing recommendations.
  • Developing and presenting informational training sessions and supporting practical application of learning on the job, to include use of training/job aids.
  • Serving as a program producer and moderator for virtual, in-person, and hybrid learning events, including coordinating with and supporting other program instructors/facilitators.
  • Experience working with classroom-based and virtual learning media.
  • Conducts needs assessments and training needs analyses, including gap analysis, contextual analysis, and root-cause analysis.
  • Performing Quality Assurance and Quality Control activities, including Subject Matter Expert reviews.
  • Identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks associated with training project plans and schedules.
  • Facilitating dynamic role-plays, simulations, and similar highly engaging and immersive learning experiences.
  • Supporting program logistics, event planning, and preparation for delivery of virtual, in-person, and hybrid program and learning events, including coordinating with off-site/external conference venues and personnel.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum of 8 years of relevant professional experience in the field of education, adult learning, training, or related fields/disciplines.
  • Prior experience as a facilitator.
  • Working knowledge and proficiency utilizing Microsoft Office applications to include: Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Visio.
  • Strong written/verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree.
  • Prior experience working as a federal government contractor; FAA experience is a plus.
  • Knowledge of leadership and management performance/best practices in the FAA Air Traffic Organization (ATO) operation.
  • Experience deploying highly customized management and leadership development solutions for large, complex, operationally focused organizations (preferably with a safety focused mission).
  • Experience providing support services in a highly matrixed work environment.
  • Experience supporting delivery of in-person, virtual, and hybrid training and development solutions (including facilitation, production, logistics, and learner support).
  • Experience working with online/virtual learning platforms and tools.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $78,000.00 - $141,000.00
