Leidos Health & Civil Sector is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Training Manager to join our team. This position directly supports programs which provide a broad array of information, resources, referrals, mental health coaching and specialized support for military members and their families worldwide. These programs are directly responsible for supporting military community quality of life issues.

The Training Manager:

  • Leads, directs and manages a team of Program and Technical Trainers.

  • Develops training content collaborating with program and technical trainers and obtains all required approvals for training materials and curriculums to be offered and tracked in one centralized platform through Relias.

  • Works with Functional Key staff to analyze organizational training needs and coordinates with Relias to provide optimal and individualized access to required and periodic training.

  • Evaluates training effectiveness  and impact and collaborate with Functional Key personnel to adapt and revise training frequency or curriculum as needed, as approved by the government.

  • Manages and oversees training plans, supporting instructions and tracking that ensures compliance with and access to all government required, program execution, technology and job function specific training and certifications.

  • Assess, designs, and conceptualizes training scenarios, approaches, objectives, plans, tools, aids, and curriculums for approval by the government prior to inclusion in the training portal for implementation.

  • Supports ad hoc government requests to view and access staff training, certification and licensing documentation.

  • Collaborates with functional key staff to determine, document and track ad hoc or remedial training needs for continues service delivery improvements.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manage all operations related to training and employee development

  • Design and implement training plan

  • Manage training projects and strategic initiatives for an optimal learning environment

  • Develop training standards and procedures

  • Regularly interface with program management office to ensure training program maintains learning and curriculum options to maintain all quality standards

  • Research and implement adult learning and curriculum development best practices

  • Measure training outcomes, employee training satisfaction and other key metrics

  • Supervise employees including selecting or recommending selection, training, assigning and evaluating work, and counseling employees

Basic Qualifications:

  • Master's degree from an accredited college or university in adult education or human resources training and development or similar program.

  • Minimum of 8 years experience developing, leading and implementing training programs for call center operations, EAP operations, and behavioral/mental health telecounseling.  

  • Minimum 5 years management experience.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, strong customer service skills, knowledge of call center and EAP operations, and knowledge and understanding of military lifestyle and culture.

  • Proven proficiency in electronic learning systems; Microsoft-based tools including Word, Outlook, Excel; web-based research; electronic documentation system.

  • U.S. citizen and speaks fluent English.

  • Ability to pass a criminal history, fingerprint background checks, and credential review/verification.

  • This position is a remote position and requires a quiet, private, confidential space to work from as well as having access to your own reliable high-speed internet hard wired to your home or apartment (coax or fiber from the Internet Service Provider (ISP) to your home. Using a hot spot from a mobile device (tethering) or wireless ISP is not acceptable.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Adult Education or Training  Certifications Veteran/military retiree, wounded warrior, and/or military spouse

  • Experience working with and/or for military communities

  • Employee assistance program (EAP) experience

Pay Range:

Pay Range $78,000.00 - $141,000.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
