Ranging in size from 5-2500 employees our clients span the public and private sectors and cover a wide range of industries    YOUR ROLE

As a Trainer, Claims Support Services, you will deliver training, create programs, and identify opportunities to enhance performance for the Claims, Pre-Claims, and Rehab teams, as well as contribute to external business initiatives. You will be collaborating with business units and the Quality & Coaching team to develop and implement strategies aligned with best practices in wholistic case management. You'll also be responsible to:

  • Design and deliver training programs to support team development.
  • Identify trends and opportunities to improve quality and performance.
  • Collaborate across departments to meet corporate goals.
  • Provide claim support through project work (e.g., Project Perspective), coaching, and task assistance.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in best practices for case management.

This is a remote first opportunity, with occasional travel for in-person facilitation being required out of Surrey, BC, Calgary, AB or Barrie, ON. 

WHAT TO EXPECT

Within 90 days

  • Master all training material, specifically the New Hire Training platforms for:
    • Pre-Claim Services 
    • Claims Services
    • Rehab & Specialty Services 
  • Meet with all business units and partners to gain an understanding of past and current training, coaching initiatives, processes, and ensure solid understanding of the business and insight into current claims management practices and competency levels of teams. 
    • Gain an understanding of existing Quality Control and Quality Assurance initiatives that have been implemented/started and, with training manager, determine where training can assist with ongoing learning. 

 

YOUR IMPACT

  • Design and conduct training programs for front-line employees in all business units.
  • Train and guide new employees as part of their onboarding.
  • Work with management to identify training needs and schedule training programs for all staff.
  • Work to keep training programs vibrant and entertaining to engage employees and trainees.
  • Ensure that all training materials and programs are compliant with laws and regulations and best practices governing the industry.
  • Provide online and conference call training sessions for offsite employees.
  • Interact with leadership to determine the specific requirements in each job description.
  • Prepare hard copy training materials and presentations for employees and with the approval of leadership.
  • Collaborate and foster communication to build consensus among internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support ongoing coaching by collaborating with all teams to develop training material (new hire and ongoing training).
  • As needed, provide coaching and support to case managers on implementing appropriate disability management-related matters.
  • Work with the Vice-President / Managers and/or DMI’s Coaching Unit and business unit leads to ensure that all required processes, procedures, templates, and forms are modified, updated, and implemented as business needs evolve and ensure smooth delivery of services and uphold best practices.
  • Support strategic initiatives internal and external
  • Participate in, or lead assigned special projects, given other responsibilities and the evolving needs of the company, at the discretion of the manager/ Vice-President.

 

THIS IS YOU

  • Minimum of 2-5 years proven Disability Management experience.  
  • Background, experience, and knowledge of STD/LTD policy and coverage.
  • Knowledge in Adult Learning principles and theories.
  • Experience and comfort facilitating in-person and online (individual and group training), as well as leading meetings and discussions.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong technical skills in MS Office, especially PowerPoint, with an aptitude to learn new systems easily.

YOUR COMPENSATION

At the time of this posting, the estimated annual base salary pay range for this position is $70,000-$75,000. Individual compensation within this range is determined by factors such as job-related skills, relevant experience, and education/training. This range reflects the annual base salary only pay and does not encompass our comprehensive total rewards, benefits, and potential bonuses that we proudly offer.
