Position Overview

The Territory Technical Solution Engineer is technical role that partners with our North America account-based sales teams to lead our Connected Data & Process sales opportunities in the field. You will help develop new business opportunities and often lead the sales engagement with customers, working with extended teams and our partner network along the way. We are looking for someone to help demonstrate, articulate, and promote Autodesk's PDM/PLM platform solutions to executives and important decision makers.

You bring industry and enterprise sales experience that can be used to add credibility and confidence to each opportunity. Essentially you are someone who has 'been there/done that' which allows you to easily relate to customer challenges while aligning Autodesk solutions to their expected outcomes.

You will report to the Manager of North American MFG Territory Solutions Engineers. You will be fully remote with a focus on supporting the United States with business travel required.

Responsibilities

  • Help qualify new opportunities based on target industries and personas

  • Engage target accounts and account teams with value engineering methodologies

  • Conduct value analyses (Return on investment) for Autodesk prospects & customers

  • Assist in the production and delivery of executive level presentations and value summaries

  • Collaborate with teams in a series of customer interviews, workshops and value assessments

  • Help identify important industry metrics to track overall industry trends and competitive benchmarking

  • Develop and present product demos, presentations, and storyboards

  • Participation in customer-facing events and presentations including product demonstrations

  • Support demand generation activities such as webinars, seminars, and roadshows

  • Great storyteller who can read the room and adjust communication style depending on the audience

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5+ years of Industry experience in Design & Manufacturing business; PDM & PLM

  • 3+ years of strategic sales or technical sales experience in the software industry

  • Ability to clarify and summarize complex issues for C-level executives and business development leaders

  • Understanding of the design & manufacturing product development process - NPI, Change Orders, Quality

  • Excel skills – embedded data, pivot tables, reporting

  • Motivated, determined, integrity-focused & business oriented

  • Ability to travel (~30% with occasional Int'l) to achieve sales and business objectives

Preferred Qualifications

  • Direct PDM & PLM user experience (administration/implementation experience)

  • Strong knowledge of Cloud enabled technologies, SaaS, AWS

  • Relationship-based software experience selling into the C-suite

  • Willingness to use experience to improve customer process landscape

  • Understanding of modern programming languages/methods – JavaScript/Python/RestAPI

  • Experience with adjacent manufacturing technologies – CAD/CAM/MES/ERP

Salary transparency

Salary is one part of Autodesk’s competitive compensation package. For U.S.-based sales roles, we expect a starting On-Target Earnings (OTE) between $177,800 and $257,400. OTE is comprised of base salary plus commission target for sales roles. Offers are based on the candidate’s experience and geographic location and may exceed this range. In addition to base salaries and/or OTE for sales roles, we also have a significant emphasis on annual cash bonuses, stock grants, and a comprehensive benefits package.
