Position Summary
The mission of the Student Accessibility Services (SAS) is to empower students with disabilities and provide equal access to higher education through the provision of academic support services, technology, and advocacy to promote student retention and graduation. The Academic Accommodations Scheduler (AAS) supports the Academic Accommodations Coordinator (AAC) in providing student responses to new applicants for disability services, organizing documentation received, setting intake appointments for AAC, and establishing online testing accommodations to students across the university. In this role, the AAS processes student requests for onsite testing accommodations, schedules exams and proctoring services; works with faculty to procure and provide testing materials during proctored exams; maintains security and integrity of the testing process and of test proctoring; works with PeopleSoft to record student data; and maintains testing rooms to assure a distraction-reduced environment. The AAS also maintains records of and reports student service data and opportunities for improvement in the program and works collaboratively with the AAC and other SAS team members to revise policy and procedure as appropriate. He/she also maintains contact and collaborative relationships with part-time proctoring staff to achieve scheduling goals.
Essential Functions:
- Respond to student questions related to disability services.
- Maintain students’ documentation that apply for services with SAS.
- Support Academic Accommodations Coordinator with new student documentation, including setting up new student appointments with AAC for intake once all documents are received.
- Process academic accommodation requests approved by the Accessibility Services Coordinator (process paperwork, coordinate/arrange services, create new policies and procedures when necessary).
- Advise/counsel students with disabilities on policies and procedures for receiving their approved academic accommodations, provide tips and strategies for students on test-taking/study/time management.
- Work with 3rd party servicers, such as ASL to support student needs and set approved appointments.
- Administer exams for students with disabilities and ensure the integrity of the testing environment as well as safe delivery of testing materials to instructor and SAS office.
- May assist in supervising proctor staff responsible for administering and monitoring examinations with accommodations to students with disabilities; tasks include scheduling tests, overseeing assistive technology utilized during testing, reserving testing rooms, acquiring, and returning tests, proctoring exams, etc.
- Reasonable and consistent attendance to fulfill requirements of the position.

Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Minimum one (1) year experience required in proctoring, scheduling, and/or another relevant domain in:
- Higher education/post-secondary education
