JOB SUMMARY: The Technology Intern, Digital Banking focuses on site reliability engineering and is responsible for helping to ensure the reliability, availability, and performance of Forbright's website and systems. This role contributes to verifying and enhancing our observability configurations as well as proactively identifying and addressing potential software and platform issues before they impact the user experience. 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct a thorough review of current observability solutions to help identify potential opportunities and areas for improvement 
  • Help implement monitoring and alerting enhancements to track key performance metrics and error conditions 
  • Help develop and maintain runbooks and documentation for common troubleshooting scenarios to ensure a quick and effective response to incidents 
  • Work with members of the development team to learn about new features and updates and help ensure that they are designed with reliability in mind 
  • Participate in on-call rotations to respond to any site incidents outside of regular business hours 
  • Perform other duties as assigned 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree required; Junior or entering Junior year preferred 
  • Linux admin knowledge required 
  • Python and or Node.js experience/knowledge  
  • Exposure to any observability platform/stack (New Relic, DataDog, Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, etc.) 
  • Cloud platform knowledge/experience; AWS preferred 
  • SQL knowledge 
  • Strong verbal and written communication 
  • Preferably on the East Coast
