Technical Writer - Level I

Youngstown, Ohio, United States - Remote

We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Technical Writer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in technical writing, demonstrating a proven track record of writing and maintaining documentation for complex products. This role will be pivotal in delivering content that meets and exceeds the needs of our users and stakeholders.

This position is FULLY REMOTE; we will consider candidates who are located in many, but not all, states within the United States. For U.S.-based positions, candidates must be eligible to work in the United States for any employer.

Requirements

The Primary Responsibilities for this role include:

  • User Guides, Release Notes, & API Documentation - Develop a strong understanding of the products and communicate complex technical information in a clear and concise manner.
  • Stakeholder Management - Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement. Work with product managers, developers, and other stakeholders to gather information and ensure accuracy and consistency in the documentation.
  • Performance and Metrics - Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure documentation success and impact. Utilize data analytics and user feedback to make informed decisions and iterate on documentation set.

The ideal candidate for this role will have/be:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum of 3-6 years of technical writing experience, with at least 3 years working on SaaS products.
  • Proven track record of successfully writing and maintaining documentation for complex products in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate technical information into clear user guides.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work across diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Proficiency with technical writing tools (e.g., Zendesk, Confluence, etc.).
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically and execute methodically, managing multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Passion for education technology and a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities in the corporate L&D and higher education space.

Additional Job Details

The base salary range for this position is $65,000 – 79,000 annually.

Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills and experience. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work.
