Technical Sales and Training Manager (Ag Irrigation) - The Toro Company

The Business Development Manager will directly support sales growth targets with specifically identified product lines by assessing and scouting new markets, areas, and opportunities where Toro Ag can win business. They will be responsible for identifying, acquiring, and closing new business opportunities within specified area of responsibility. They will also be responsible for technical field support across the business.
What Will You Do?
In order to grow and build a successful career with The Toro Company, you will be responsible for:
- Meet and exceed topline revenue and net gross margin goals for specific product categories.
- Responsible for developing strategies in key product categories and in targeted growth regions.
- Consistently provide accurate strategic forecasts and drive progress on large deals on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
- Perform market complete analysis, identify gaps, and lead solution development.
- Contributing to and leading regular business updates to leadership team.
- Coordinate closely with sales, marketing, engineering and vendors to lead new business initiatives, marketing campaigns, and grower outreach.
- Create and lead strategic efforts to identify new markets and emerging opportunities for Toro Ag.
- Travel 50%.

- Track record of working independently and comfort with launching new programs.
- Proven analytical and quantitative skills (including Excel) and an ability to use hard data and metrics to back up assumptions and develop project business cases.
- High attention to detail including precise and effective customer communications.
- Proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously
- Superior verbal and written communications skills.
- Plan, develop, and execute compelling content marketing programs.
- Work well with a wide array of internal and external partners.
- Travel up to 50%. May require coverage in territory outside of normal working hours and weekends.
What Do You Need?
To be considered for this role, an individual should meet the following minimal requirements:
- BA/BS degree required. Agricultural engineering discipline and/or a MBA preferred.
- 5+ years experience required; preference given to industry experience with related experience in irrigation engineering and sales with emphasis on low flow or drip irrigation markets .
- Experience in agricultural products and dealer-grower relationships
- Cross-functional selling experience and propensity to identify and engage expert colleagues to conceive and close large opportunities.

Competitive Salary – The pay range takes into account skills, experience, education, and location. It is not common to be hired at or near the top of the range; compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the annual pay range is between $100,000 - $125,000. Cash compensation is one piece of our competitive total rewards package.
