What is special about this role?

As a Technical Program Manager, you will work with the Solutions team to drive the successful implementation, launch, and scaling of Helix’s population genomics and genetic diagnostics partners, which include leading health systems, life sciences companies, payers, and governments across the country. From defining and managing technical work plans, to creatively and strategically solving problems, you will play a critical role in helping our partners (and Helix) drive clinical and research value through large-scale genomics. You’ll work closely with many teams at Helix – including Commercial, Product, Engineering, Medical Affairs, Quality, and Legal – to do this.

As a Technical Program Manager at Helix you will:

  • Serve as the primary technical point of contact for Helix’s partners for our population genomics and genetic diagnostics business 
  • Accountable for overseeing the technical aspects of pre-sales, implementation, configuration, launch, and scaling of Helix’s health systems and life sciences partnerships
  • Define, communicate, and proactively manage technical work plans and issues for external partners and internal stakeholders
  • Work closely with the Partner Success team to provide input on the longer-term vision for the partnership – helping to identify opportunities for new products and services that could help the relationship grow
  • Have experience with at least one EHR platform and be able to understand Health System Partners technical infrastructure and processes in order to best support them
  • Gather insights and feedback from partners to advise on the product roadmap in collaboration with the Product and Engineering teams

About you:

  • 3-5 years of experience managing technical projects in the healthcare industry
  • Experience developing impactful relationships with health systems in a customer-facing role
  • Experience launching applications and services with Epic, Cerner, and other EHR systems
  • Collaborator who is able to effectively bring together a broad range of functions and levels to drive a solution
  • Experience working with health care regulations, including HIPAA, as well as data privacy frameworks including CCPA/CPRA and GDPR
  • Experience working with engineering teams in an agile software development environment at a rapidly growing company
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to capture and convey partner requirements
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • A passion for genomics, genetic testing, life sciences, and healthcare

Pluses:

  • Experience working closely with cross-functional teams at leading health systems
  • Strong understanding of the healthcare industry and key dynamics
  • Knowledge of / experience in genomics
  •  Experience with software development and testing
  • Experience with change management using version control software

Expected Pay For This Role:

There are 3 distinct parts to your Helix offer: 1) Base Salary  2) Annual Bonus 3) Equity 

Expected Helix Base: $121,000 - $168,250

Expected Helix Discretionary Annual Bonus: 10% of your annual salary

Equity: We offer generous equity at Helix. If you receive a Helix offer your recruiter will book dedicated time with you to educate you on our equity model.

The salary range above is our reasonable estimate of the base compensation for this role across US locations. Actual starting pay will be based on non-discriminatory job-related factors, including exact work location, experience, relevant training and education, and skill level. Your recruiter can share more about your specific work location salary range during the hiring process.

What To Expect During Your Onboarding Week:

We want to make sure your first week is spent learning the foundations. You will be invited to live orientation sessions and spend time with your hiring manager developing your individual roadmap to success. This experience will include sessions that cover your benefits, security & privacy training, an introduction to the OKR framework used at Helix and our communication tools and norms. 

What To Expect During Your First 90 days:

First 30 days:  you’ll spend time learning the Helix way, completing training and onboarding for your roles, and getting introduced to your team and relevant stakeholders. You’ll also gain a deeper understanding of our customers, our products, the impact we make in the lives of our communities, and how to thrive at Helix through participation in Helix U.  

Day 30 - 60: you’ll spend time contributing to projects, deeply familiarizing yourself with team and company processes, and developing a deeper understanding of Helix’s products, services and capabilities.

Day 60 - 90: you’ll build your OKRs with your manager, start to take ownership of projects and initiatives on your team, and begin to demonstrate your impact on the Helix mission.
