Technical Program Manager II - Azure Sovereign Cloud - Reston, Virginia, United States

The Azure Core Trusted Platform is driving the expansion of Azure regions and clouds around the world. We design, deploy, and manage the Cloud Infrastructure required to meet our most demanding customer requirements for security, privacy, and sovereignty.

As a Technical Program Management II in Azure Core, you will drive the delivery of a fully instanced Sovereign Cloud. You will regularly interact with a broad set of stakeholders and drive impact across both internal and partner organizations. This opportunity will allow you to further develop your professional network, learn about all business and engineering considerations when deploying a hyperscale cloud, and regularly interface with individuals domestically and internationally. Flexible work arrangements are possible, including nearly 100% remote work.

Responsibilities

  • You will work with various stakeholders to drive project progress across a broad spectrum of delivery workstreams.
  • You’ll identify risks and propose data-based mitigations.
  • You’ll define success criteria as you collaborate with others to implement features for cross-functional projects. You’ll coordinate and ensure alignment across teams.
  • With minimal supervision, you will help deliver on roadmap for feature groups, track project schedules, develop staging and implementation, and stay updated with governance programs.
  • You will drive continuous improvements by validating use cases and partnering with other organizations to collect performance metrics.
  • You’ll engage directly with external partners to ensure consistent communications and shared perspective on the state of the program.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 2+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 1+ year(s) of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.

Other Requirements:

  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Additional / Preferred Qualifications: 

  • 4+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.
  • 1+ year(s) of experience reading and/or writing code (e.g., sample documentation, product demos).
  • Bachelor's Degree AND 4+ years of experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development OR equivalent experience.

Technical Program Management IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $94,300 - $182,600 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $120,900 - $198,600 per year.
