Leidos is seeking a summer intern with a System Engineering background to join our team in support of the SMIT contract, the largest IT services program for the Navy. Under the Service Management, Integration, and Transport (SMIT), Leidos team will deliver the core backbone of the Navy-Marine Corps Intranet (NMCI), including cybersecurity services, network operations, service desk, and data transport. Ultimately, the Leidos team will support the Navy in unifying its shore-based networks and data management to improve capability and service while also saving significant dollars by focusing efforts under one enterprise network. The successful candidate will support Linux, Windows, and database solutions and analysis for the NMCI network.
Primary Responsibilities:
Work with a geographically distributed remote team, closely coordinating with systems engineers to define and develop requirements, architecture/design, and testing artifacts using No Magic’s Cameo Systems Modeler (CSM) and suite. Assist in the design and development of SysML diagrams including block definition diagrams, internal block diagrams, activity diagrams, and an array of matrices and tables. Support informal and formal peer-reviews. Collaborate and coordinate with management and other engineering disciplines. Identify opportunities for improvement, streamline existing processes, and support implementations of new workflows. Gather insight and analyze model elements and patterns to assist in the development of strategies to enhance team and model productivity. Participate in meetings and sessions to foster continuous improvement in model deliverables. Learn and apply best practices in MBSE methodologies.
Basic Qualifications:
Enrolled in BS Systems Engineering, or Equiv Eng program at college/university as a Freshman, Sophomore, or Junior level
Motivated individuals who are eager to learn, grow, and contribute
Independent thinkers ready to get real-world and hands-on experience
Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance

Pay Range:
Pay Range $44,850.00 - $81,075.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
