The Opportunity


EDF EPR Engineering UK (EPR-E) is tasked with delivering the design for several nuclear island (NI) buildings, systems, and equipment contracts for the Hinkley Point C EPR Project. This involves working through an integrated team, supporting HPC construction and commissioning efforts, and preparing design replication feasibility and engineering activities for the Sizewell C Project. As a result, a Technical Directorate is being established to oversee the engineering disciplines and technical expertise needed to successfully deliver these projects through EPR-E’s integrated teams.


As a Technical Governance Coordination Lead, you will oversee and drive the technical decision-making process, ensuring compliance with HPC project organisation. In this role you will be participating in the arbitration and prioritisation of technical topics, coordinating stakeholders for consensus, and supporting teams in preparing materials for technical committees.

What you’ll be doing

 

  • You’ll lead and manage the technical decision-making process, ensuring it aligns with the HPC project organisation. This involves participating in the arbitration and prioritisation of technical issues and coordinating with stakeholders to secure buy-in and consensus.
  • You’ll assist teams in preparing presentations for technical committees by organising logistics, collecting and sharing documents, and providing content guidance. Additionally, you’ll organise weekly forums, such as the NIAM (Nuclear Island Architect Meeting), to facilitate multi-disciplinary discussions and resolve complex issues, chaired by the Edvance HPC Technical Director.
  • You’ll ensure that decisions are documented and tracked properly and in a timely manner. You’ll also recommend and implement improvements to existing working practices and coordinate or lead technical topics based on project requirements.


Who you are

 

  • Being a Technical Governance Coordination Lead at EDF means holding a relevant degree or equivalent qualification, with substantial experience in engineering, leadership, or project management. You should have extensive knowledge of EPR design and engineering processes, along with a solid grasp of UK laws, regulations, and nuclear industry best practices.
  • You’ll need to excel in understanding complex technical topics and providing clear summaries, as well as demonstrate experience in cross-functional technical coordination. Proven success in building and maintaining collaborative relationships with various stakeholders and upholding the highest standards of safety and quality is essential.
  • We’re seeking someone with a strong track record of managing projects and adhering to industry standards, coupled with a capability to establish and achieve safety and quality benchmarks in a highly regulated environment.
