Attend lecture Tue & Thu 2:30-3:45pm, two sections of discussion, and other hours TBD. Discussion sections are Thurs 11-11:50am, Thurs 1:20-2:10pm, Wed 11-11:50am, Thurs 4:35-5:25pm. Office hours will follow University guidelines related to meeting requirements.Salary/Wage Range/Lump Sum:
$13,194 gross pay based on 50% FTE (20 hours/week) at an academic base rate of $53,050Number of Positions:
One (1)Qualifications:
Applicants must be graduate students with excellent English oral and written communication skills, excellent research and reading skills. Experience with online or in-person teaching or learning required. International students who have not received a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution are required to provide English proficiency test score of 26/30 or higher on the speaking section of the iBt TOEFL test, 8.0 or higher on the speaking section of the IELTS, or a score of 50 or higher on the SPEAK test.Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Knowledge of ethical, legal and policy issues related to analytics, “big data”, and algorithms to support decision making. Familiarity with major debates and controversies in a variety of contexts. Knowledge of moral reasoning and legal concepts to assess case studies and critique arguments made by others.
Position Summary/Job Duties:
The Teaching Assistant will assist the course instructor in operation of the spring class, including: leading exercise sessions, providing technological support to the students in the class, grading assignments, posting materials, troubleshooting issues with Canvas, managing communications with students via email, discussion boards and office hours. The TA is expected to attend and participate in all class sessions.
