The TDM Business Partner Manager (manager) identifies and develops learning and performance-related business initiatives. This includes working closely with key stakeholders in the business and subject matter experts in analyzing, designing, developing, implementing, and evaluating the business’ talent development plan.  Primary responsibilities include conducting needs assessments, designing learning curriculums, and working with subject matter experts to develop content - all of which include education, experiences, exposure and environment.

The manager is responsible to plan, organize, develop, manage and control the activities of assigned Business Partner curriculum. This includes planning, coordinating, leading and supervising TDM resources, providing status reporting and communication, leading and managing project execution with a continuous improvement focus, guiding teams in problem solving activities and influencing important change initiatives. Partners with TDM Leadership, National Line of Business leaders, and other key stakeholders to achieve organizational excellence in support of company vision, including on-time delivery, quality learning programs and productivity improvement/cost effective strategies.

The manager will also work on special projects related to firm initiatives that support the firm, talent, and TDM strategies.

This position will work closely with the broader TDM team to ensure enterprise needs are addressed (consistency across TDM or Talent, as appropriate), as well as leveraging instructional design and digital solutions. Coordination with various departments and other resources within the organization is required.

Essential Duties:

Provides critical leverage in advising, developing, planning, executing, and evaluating the learning and performance solutions to enable the Firm, talent, and TDM strategies.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Serving as a performance consultant to leaders, subject matter experts, curriculum owners, and developers to uncover business needs and identify & recommend solutions that address the needs of the business

  • Leading project teams

  • Working closely with key stakeholders to support the overall success of the learning and development plan(s)

  • Partnering with others to plan and coordinate TDM resources and utilization

  • Own, manage and regularly assess the portfolio of solutions for multiple capabilities.  Guide the measurement strategy for portfolios of solutions. Use data to recommend course of action and to keep stakeholders informed.  Summarize results and offer innovative solutions for the enhancements, as appropriate.

  • Contribute to team strategy and management.

Works closely and collaborates with other TDM managers on topics common to similar roles or TDM as a whole. The manager team identifies issues and opportunities for common understanding, recommends and implements best practices, works on TDM projects either as self-identified or assigned by the TDM Leadership team and creates a sense of unity and teamwork within the TDM team as a whole.

Provides effective leadership to employees and/or team through hiring, orienting, and developing. Communicates performance expectations and provides performance feedback, coaching and mentoring.

May serve as a People Advisor.

Minimum Qualifications:

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

Preferred:

  • Degree in education, instructional design, human resource development or related area; master’s degree; CPA a plus

TECHNICAL/SOFT  SKILLS

Required:

  • Proficiency with PowerPoint, Word, Excel and SharePoint

  • Knowledge of instructional design principles, including evaluation design and assessment skills

  • Strong skills in these areas:

  • Interpersonal and communication (verbal and written)

  • Problem solving

  • Organizational and time management

  • Project management

  • Attention to detail

  • Ability to respond and be adaptable to changing priorities

  • Facilitating and presenting

Preferred:

  • Content knowledge in or experience working with subject matter experts in assurance, tax or consulting

EXPERIENCE

Required:

  • 5+ years relevant experience

  • Previous experience managing multiple projects of high to moderate risk

  • Previous experience facilitating small group meetings

  • Practical knowledge of learning implementation and employee development

  • Managing projects and stakeholders

  • Client service and issue resolution

  • Compiling and reviewing data to make business decisions

Preferred:

  • Previous experience in public accounting or business consulting environment

LEADERSHIP SKILLS

Required:

  • Ability to manage multiple milestone projects, including the ability to supervise, direct and review the results of the project

  • Ability to work with individuals from multiple levels within the organization.

  • Ability to provide and receive feedback

At RSM, an employee’s pay at any point in their career is intended to reflect their experiences, performance, and skills for their current role. The salary range (or starting rate for interns and associates) for this role represents numerous factors considered in the hiring decisions including, but not limited to, education, skills, work experience, certifications, location, etc. As such, pay for the successful candidate(s) could fall anywhere within the stated range.

Compensation Range: $92,600 - $159,000

Individuals selected for this role will be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on firm and individual performance.
