What will you be doing?

Circana is evolving its Global Tax function to operate as a proactive, technology-driven business partner. The Tax Manager will help shape this function and improve processes around income tax accounting and tax compliance for our large and complex multinational organization. This role will manage all domestic tax compliance and income tax accounting, interacting with other team members and business partners.

Job Responsibilities

  • Manage the preparation and filing of federal income tax returns, extensions, and estimated tax payments.
  • Assist in the preparation and filing of state income tax returns, extensions, and estimated tax payments.
  • Ensure accurate and timely compliance with all federal tax laws and regulations.
  • Oversee the preparation and review of federal tax workpapers and supporting documentation.
  • Analyze tax law changes and their impact on the company’s tax positions.
  • Lead the overall income tax provision process, including tax calculations for quarterly and annual financial statements and associated disclosures.
  • Ensure compliance with ASC 740, including evaluation of uncertain tax positions, reconciliation of deferred taxes, and valuation allowance analysis.
  • Collaborate with internal and external auditors to support tax-related audits and financial statement disclosures.
  • Identify and implement tax-saving opportunities to optimize the company’s federal tax position.
  • Provide research and guidance on tax implications of business transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, and reorganizations.
  • Collaborate with team members and tax advisors to complete ad hoc projects.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Finance, Accounting, and Legal to provide tax insights on business initiatives.
  • Manage federal and state income tax audits, including responding to IRS inquiries and resolving tax disputes.
  • Maintain proper tax documentation and ensure compliance with internal controls.
  • Monitor legislative and regulatory developments to proactively assess potential tax impacts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
  • CPA certification.
  • 6+ years of federal tax experience, with Big 4 experience required.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. federal tax laws and regulations.
  • Experience with tax accounting under ASC 740.
  • Proficiency in tax software (OneSource) and ERP systems (NetSuite).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

This position can be located in the following area(s): Remote, USA. Central or Eastern time zone preferred.

The below range reflects the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future. An employee’s position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, any collective bargaining agreements, and business or organizational needs. The salary range for this role is $125,000+. 

This job is also eligible for bonus pay.
