Tax Manager - Asset Management - Remote, USA

Summary of Role:
This Tax Manager - Asset Management position will have a broad range of responsibilities with a focus on tax compliance and special projects. The successful candidate will be interacting with other key members of the finance team as well as business partners outside of finance. This will be a critical role within the Tax Department and Asset Management function.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the Federal and State tax compliance and reporting responsibilities for partnerships and corporate entities, and ensure returns are completed in a timely and accurate manner
  • Prepare supporting calculations for the tax returns and manage tax operations/payments and state notices
  • Monitor tax law changes, perform tax research and address financial and operational implications while providing advice on how to navigate
  • Support cross-functional teams and manage relationships with key stakeholders including accounting, finance teams, and external parties
  • Provide support for strategic initiatives and assist in special projects including, but not limited to, flip partnerships, tax equity investments, investment tax credits, tax audits, and M&A
  • Assist with quarterly and annual consolidated tax provision and related financial statement disclosures

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
  • 5+ years of significant experience at a public accounting firm and/or corporate tax department, with an emphasis on pass-through and partnership structures
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state tax regulations and experience with tax accounting (ASC 740)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact effectively internally as well as with external service providers
  • Willing and able to learn and work independently with minimal supervision
  • Proficient Excel skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters degree in Tax or Accounting
  • Certified Public Accountant
  • Experience with tax equity structures, investment tax credits, or the solar industry
  • Both public accounting and in-house tax department experience
Please note the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for this position only and in the geographical location noted. The base pay for this position ranges from $117,800/year to $212,000/year. Pay is based on several factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
