Job Title: Tax Intern

Reports to: Sr. Manager, International Tax

Location: Goleta, CA; Southern California (Remote)

The Role

As a tax intern you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in tax working to help our corporate tax department meet its tax obligations while managing the impact tax has on the business. A strong candidate for this role is highly motivated, very detail oriented, has a great work ethic, and is a good communicator.

Your Impact
 

The primary functions of this role, include but are not limited to:

• Assist tax department personnel with various tax calculations, workpaper organization, and tax automation initiatives.
• Assist tax department personnel with tax controversy requests from various tax authorities.
• Coordinate data and information requests across multiple Deckers functions and external providers.
• Support the tax team in various ad-hoc projects and tasks.
• Participate in meetings and calls with various departments and stakeholders to understand the impact of tax on business operations.
• Compile minutes for various tax department meetings and distribute them to the appropriate parties.
• Demonstrate a strong attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks performed.
• Take initiative to learn and ask questions to further develop knowledge and skills.
• Uphold confidentiality and discretion in handling sensitive financial and tax information.

Ideal candidate is enthusiastic, proactive, and eager to tackle new projects. They have exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills. As well as excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Currently pursuing a degree Bachelor of Science/Business Administration, Master of Science in Accounting, Finance, Taxation or other relevant field.

The salary range posted reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for this role in our Goleta, CA location. Individual pay will be determined …
