About The Role:

The Systems Engineer is part of our growing Information Systems team, which oversees and manages VentureWell’s Information Technology (IT) infrastructure and systems. This position focuses on managing the macOS, Linux, and SaaS infrastructure backbone of VentureWell in addition to managing IT support escalations. This is a great role for someone who has a passion for technology, teamwork, and continuously improving the technology experience for end users. We are ready to welcome a new member onto our team as soon as possible.

Responsibilities:

Technical Responsibilities (60-70% of time)

  • Manages fleet of Apple devices through MDM (macOS, iPadOS, iOS and Jamf)
  • Configures and manages SaaS (Google Workspace, Slack, Zoom, Okta, BetterCloud), including integrations
  • Manages and maintains cloud and on-premise Linux servers, working with internal and external stakeholders to ensure VentureWell’s security posture is maintained at all times
  • Implements and maintains an approved SaaS tool inventory that is visible and transparent to all staff and supports streamlining and reporting on user management and provisioning
  • Triages and vets requests for new software; provides status updates to requestor(s), and documents final decisions.
  • Serves as escalation point for technical end user support and troubleshooting with an emphasis on complex tech support requests focused on SaaS applications, device troubleshooting, and integration server issues
  • Stays up to date with new features and product releases; researches and recommends new tools as well as products and services as appropriate to meet user and business needs

Non-Technical Responsibilities  (30-40% of time)

  • Builds relationships with all staff across the organization, checking in regularly to ensure people have what they need and technology is performing as it should
  • Maintains standard operating procedures (SOPs) and documentation on an ongoing basis
  • Assists with planning, prioritization and execution of approved operational initiatives; provides regular status updates to end users and IS team as projects progress

What You Bring:

  • At least 7 years of experience working in the IT space
  • At least 4 years of experience with macOS and Apple hardware provisioning and troubleshooting; at least 3 years Linux administration experience (Ubuntu, CentOS)
  • Proficient in scripting language (Bash, Python)
  • Deep technical knowledge of SaaS applications, including experience managing Google Workspace, Okta, Slack, Jamf and Zoom. Experience managing Airtable a huge plus
  • Experience with information system security principles, networking, and general software management best practices
