Location: San Diego, CA at our wonderful G2 Ops Office and at the Customer Site
Work Setting: In-person with flexible working hours, some remote opportunities (not a fully remote position)
Looking to Start: ASAP - August 2024
Salary Range: $80,000 - $150,000 plus benefits (varies by role)
Openings: 2 Full-Time Roles
Security Clearance Requirement: Must be able to obtain and maintain Active DoD Secret Clearance

General Responsibilities for All Roles:

  • Participate in system requirements reviews and maintain requirements documentation.
  • Identify potential system interface requirements.
  • Review system engineering documentation to validate specifications.
  • Produce and maintain system engineering models using modeling languages such as UML and SysML.
  • Produce artifacts to support customer objectives.
  • Participate in project/program technical risk analysis and mitigation.
  • Proven ability to work effectively and collaborate in a team environment.
  • Strong written, communication, and presentation skills.

General Required Skills for All Roles:

  • Experience applying model-based systems and digital engineering procedures, processes, and methodologies.
  • Experience with UML/SysML modeling languages and/or DoDAF/UAF frameworks.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering, or Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
  • Experience with systems engineering aspects such as requirements elicitation, analysis, derivation, and traceability, functional analysis and allocation, WBS, trade studies, modeling and simulation, metrics, risk management, integration and test, verification, and validation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, along with effective time and project management skills.

Role 1: Systems Engineer

Years of Industry Experience: 3+ years of relevant experience
Salary Range: $85,000 - $150,000
Looking to Start: ASAP
Specific Duties:

  • Support the decomposition and allocation of top-level requirements to lower-level requirement documents.
  • Deliver cutting-edge solutions to our customer’s most challenging problems.
  • Ensure program requirements are clearly defined and customer expectations are being met.

Desired Skills:

  • Experience with Agile management/collaboration tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence).
  • Experience with various model-based system-engineering tools - Cameo Systems Modeler, Magic Draw, Enterprise Architect.
  • Knowledge of IT, computer system infrastructure, data communication and network systems, TCP/IP, OSI model, and routing protocols.
  • OMG-Certified SysML Professional (OCSMP) certification.
  • Security+ certification.

Role 2: Systems Engineer

Years of Industry Experience: 3-5 years of relevant experience
Salary Range: $80,000 - $120,000
Looking to Start: August 2024
Specific Duties:

  • Support the Naval Undersea Warfare Center, Division Newport, evaluating new systems and technologies for future classes of US Navy Attack Submarines.
  • Model system capabilities for the Navy’s SSN(X) program.
  • Perform analysis of alternatives and other platform-level studies to inform design and acquisition decisions.

Knowledge Requirements:

  • DoD military systems, C4I, Surface-, Undersea-, Air-, and Mine-warfare on military programs.

Desired Skills:

  • Operational analysis and use case definition.
  • Requirements management and analysis.
  • Penchant for automation and integration of tools like Cameo System Modeler, Computer-Aided Design software, Jira, Monte Carlo Simulation tools, MatLab, DOORs.
