PURPOSE OF THE JOB

The [Workday] Systems Analyst III will support, maintain, implement, and improve applications and integrations for the business/enterprise in a cost effective, secure, high performing and customer centric manner. The role collaborates with IT stakeholders and cross-functional teams to ensure the [Workday] platform aligns with our IT technology strategy, ultimately contributing to overall success of the business.

[The Workday System Analyst serves as the IT administrator for the Workday platform, responsible for security configuration, maintenance, data loads, integrations, upgrades, and optimization of the Workday ecosystem (HCM, Finance, Peakon, PRISM, etc.)]

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Provides application technical support to Program Teams.

  • Develops and maintains platform security roles, permissions, policies, and configuration.
  • Configures and maintains core system components, including but not limited to organizations and hierarchies.
  • Helps define business processes as they pertain to application and integration workflow.
  • Provides ad-hoc, incident related end-user support. Troubleshoots and resolves application and integration related incidents and problems. Documents with appropriate level of detail.
  • Formulates and presents solutions to application issues.
  • Develops custom reports, analytics, and [PRISM] Dashboards to support business needs.
  • Develops and maintains a platform product backlog and roadmap considering competing business needs.

Improves the supportability and maintainability of [Workday] systems/platforms.

  • Defines the Application Inventory for the Program Team assigned.
  • Analyzes support pain points and provides solutions to address the commonly recurring incidents.
  • Advocates the inclusion of appropriate non-functional requirements to enhance business processes, operations, and information process flow.
  • Defines and manages a proactive continuous improvement effort for technical and functional improvements.
  • Researches tools, trends, and best practices to improve the supportability, maintainability and performance of applications. Stays up to date on [Workday] features and enhancements.
  • Defines and drives release activities as required.
  • Documents the disposition of production deployments to provide accurate metrics.

Collaborates with internal stakeholders on [Workday] information systems projects.

  • Partners across business units assisting in the system design and implementation of desired and new functionality.
  • Works closely with the development team to evaluate technical design alternatives for functionality.
  • Participates in system testing, including unit, functional, testing, integration, and user acceptance testing for updates, enhancements, and integrations.
  • Participates in design workshops and ongoing interactions with key stakeholders to determine detailed requirements.
  • Ensures non-functional requirements, including UX, scalability, performance, supportability and reliability are identified and considered.

SUPERVISORY RESPONISBILITIES

This role does not have supervisory responsibilities.

EDUCATION AND SKILLS

  • Bachelor's Degree from four-year college or university required with a major or emphasis in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related IT field.  Additional experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a Systems Analyst or similar role required.
  • Minimum 1 year of relevant experience in the Insurance or Financial Industry preferred.

Workday Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a Workday administrator with expertise in Workday security and business process configuration, and reporting.
  • Experience with Workday integration tools and technologies.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

  • Insurance Certifications NTH (CPCU, ARM, AIC, AINS) and domain expertise: CSM or CSPO preferred.
  • ITIL certification preferred.
  • Specialized certifications preferred and depending on area of IT assigned may include SAP systems, specifically FI, CD, ICM, and/or BP or database, data, and/or AWS. [Workday certification or training in security highly desirable.  Other Workday certifications a plus.]

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

  • Working knowledge of information systems design and analysis required. 
  • Knowledge of ITIL Framework and Best Practices.
  • Ability to diagram critical processes and workflows for a particular application/integration.
  • Ability to create intermediate to advanced SQL and Splunk queries and utilize/create simple dashboards for support purposes.
  • Possess a strong understanding of common non-functional requirements for supportability and maintainability.
  • Possess a strong understanding of API standards for communicating and integration between applications.
  • Possess a strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) framework and software development methodologies (Waterfall, Agile) and their corresponding artifacts.
  • Possess a strong understanding of the different infrastructure and application components as they relate to a particular application [Workday].  
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with stakeholders at various levels of the organization.
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to prioritize (and reprioritize) as business needs change

Data Engineering Requirements:

Proactively leads the analysis/troubleshooting of issues with data storage, data processing and data integration solutions that make the best use of traditional and cloud platforms (AWS or similar) by understanding the business, technology, and data landscape including real time data processing. Knowledge and experience with data movement tools – SSIS, Profisee, Alteryx, Informatica Experience preferred with AWS data stack - S3, Glue, Redshift, DynamoDB etc. Proven experience with authoring production run book documents, workaround procedures and RCAs (Root Cause Analysis). Background in database performance tuning, batch, and streaming data architectures.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

This job operates in a professional office environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently will sit, stand, walk, and bend during working hours. Requires manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination. Requires normal or corrected vision and hearing corrected to a normal range.  The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 5 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.  The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. This position requires more than 80% computer use.

WORK ENVIRONMENT 

This position operates in an office environment and requires the frequent use of computer, telephone, copier and other standard office equipment.

The current range for this position is

$98,859.84 - $176,960.68
