Surplus Lines Representative

Position Summary
The Surplus Lines Representative is responsible for handling routine assignments related to surplus lines documentation, ensuring accuracy in filings, and supporting day-to-day operations. The role provides support to the Surplus Lines teams, stays informed about industry changes, and participates in customer outreach initiatives. This regulatory insurance tax reporting position is deadline driven.What will your job entail?
Job Responsibilities:
• Works on routine assignments related to surplus lines documentation, recognizing the accepted practices, utilizes online systems to retrieve, organize, and delivers surplus lines filings.
• Timely and accurate completion of state regulatory surplus lines tax filings by either utilizing the state’s filing website or state approved form
• Conduct compliance and quality review on documents associated with a surplus lines tax filing. If documents are not correct, coordinates with broker teams to make appropriate corrections to ensure timely filings.
•Communicate with state insurance departments to ensure proper statutory compliance with applicable surplus lines laws and codes.
• Provides day-to-day support and assistance to employees in the Surplus Lines team and ensures a collaborative and effective working environment.
• Stays informed about industry changes, company policies, and procedural updates, ensures compliance with established guidelines, and follows established procedures on routine work.
• Participates actively in training and development opportunities to enhance knowledge of surplus lines principles, policies, and procedures.
Work Experience and Education:
• Associate’s Degree (AA) from two year college or technical school and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Demonstrate ability to manage multiple priorities in a high volume position, deliver timely and accurate work products with customer service focus and respond with sense of urgency as required.
• Exceptional attention to detail
• Strong teamwork orientation; willingness to help larger team meet goals and responsibilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Outlook.

The target hourly rate range for this position is $20.05 - $25.00 per hour.The wage range for this role considers many factors, such as training, transferable skills, work experience, licensure and certification, business needs, and market demands. The pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. Full-time roles are eligible for bonuses and benefits.
