Support and Maintenance Technician

This is an onsite position at our customer site, the Sheriff’s office in San Diego California (Kearny Mesa), CA.

Regulatory Compliance

Must have U.S. Citizenship in order to obtain the post-hire Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Clearance from the Federal Bureau of Investigation and must be able to obtain post-hire clearance from the Committee on Foreign Investments in the U.S. (CFIUS) and Department of Treasury.

Position Summary

Thales is looking for an experienced Support and Maintenance Technician who will provide critical, onsite software application & hardware support, customer reported issues or inquires, including network and system troubleshooting, deployments, monitoring, and biometric application support, etc. for the Sheriff office.

Key Areas of Responsibility

  • You will resolve customer reported Application, Hardware issues and inquiries on-site as well as remotely.

  • You provide appropriate documentation on the reported issues and provide regular status reports to internal stakeholders and external customers.

  • Adhering to SLAs (Service Level Agreements), you maintain a high level of customer relations through responsiveness and focus on ensuring customer satisfaction

  • Where applicable, your participate in 24X7 customer technical support

  • You will be responsible for opening Service Now (SNOW) and JIRA tickets pertaining to customer applications and Hardware support and following up until the tickets are resolved.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or High School Diploma with 4 years’ experience in IT in lieu of a degree

  • 1-3 years’ experience working in an IT role (ie, helpdesk, hardware, software application support) directly supporting critical front-line business services for customers

  • 1-3 years’ experience in System/network/ software application troubleshooting

  • Be able to pass rigorous background checks conducted by law enforcement agencies

  • Additional experience in one in the following areas: 

    • LAN/WAN internetworking and protocols

    • Windows-based server installation and administration

    • UNIX/Linux installation and administration

    • RDBMS installation and administration for Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, and MySQL

Special Position Requirements

  • Schedule: Core Business Hours Monday-Friday, 8am – 5pm and 24/7 on-call for critical applications.

  • Customer Location Based or Site Visits: This position is primarily based at a customer location and will require regular travel to and from one or more customer sites to perform the essential functions of the position.

  • Personal or Company/Pool Vehicle Usage: The candidate will be required to use their personal vehicle for travel or customer visits to perform the essential functions of the position.

Pay Transparency

The anticipated TTC range for this role is $53,392- 106,985 USD Annual. The Company reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant’s status protected by local, state, or federal law.
