What does this Supply Chain Business Admin Apprenticeship opportunity offer you?
We’re recruiting for apprentices to join our Business training programme, working as part of some of the most exciting projects at EDF.
This 2 year apprenticeship offers the opportunity to gain a Level 3 Business Administration Advanced qualification whilst spending time within different teams of the Supply Chain department based at Gloucester. You’ll experience a variety of responsibilities that will help you develop a wide range of transferable business skills that will set you up for your future career.
What can a Supply Chain Business Admin Apprentice expect day to day?
The Supply Chain department consists of the Commercial, Operations, Nuclear Fuel, and Business Improvement and Governance teams. The department work together to manage the Procurement Lifecycle of goods and services to support the operation of the Nuclear Fleet.
Throughout the programme you will have an opportunity to support these teams to develop skills and competences relating to procurement and supply, these include (but are not limited to):
- Contract placement
- Supplier relationship management
- Stakeholder management
- Governance and processes adherence
- Purchasing systems
- Contributing with helping Britain achieve net zero and Equity Diversity and Inclusion activities

Training, development and support for you
During the training programme your time will be split between studying at college and learning on the job in our business.
You’ll attend the National College for Nuclear in Cannington, Somerset, one day a month and study remotely.
You’ll have plenty of support along the way too – from your Tutors at National College for Nuclear, to your EDF Line Manager and our Early Careers team; as well as face-to-face support at our on-site Apprentice Hub and digital access to relevant information, learning and care.

Your work location
You’ll need to live within commuting distance of your base location, Gloucester Business Park.
Who you are
To be eligible for this role, you’ll have:
- Five GCSEs in the A* to C or 9 to 4 range including English and Maths, or a relevant Level 2 qualification
- You'll be self-motivated with a desire to learn and develop
- You'll have the ability to work in a team and independently, as well as being able to balance the responsibilities of study and work
You will need to meet the requirements for Security Vetting, which will, ordinarily, require you to have been a resident of the UK for at least 3 of the last 5 years.
