Raytheon Supply Chain organization seeks an experienced engineering professional to join our team in a critical Supplier Engineering Department Leader role within the Energetics and Propulsion commodity product team.  The role is responsible for the technical interface with critical rocket motor, warhead and energetics suppliers, leading all aspects of planning and executing the supply chain value stream technical strategic roadmaps, technical capabilities, and production of our wide range of weapon systems, from tactical missiles to strategic defense products. In this role, you will leverage your technical knowledge and process capability expertise to improve supplier performance by driving Raytheon design requirements for manufacturing and quality capabilities of suppliers, and improvement of supplier hardware for affordability.  The leader in this role will work closely with supply chain commodity execution, quality & mission assurance, product and program engineering, material program management, acquisition, manufacturing operations, and program management, leading as the catalyst for supplier engagement strategy activities, execution, and design for manufacturability / new product integration with our critical suppliers.  This position requires diverse manufacturing operations and technical background along with the ability to lead across functional and organizational boundaries.  The leader in this role will also be responsible for creating staffing plans for the department to accomplish schedule and execution goals.


The ideal candidate will draw from extensive engineering and factory manufacturing operations management skills to lead across technical organization boundaries, overseeing all technical aspects of the performance life cycle of critical supplier locations to improve supplier performance and ensure business objectives are met to deliver maximum value Raytheon.  This leader will be responsible for fostering and maintain effective collaboration across the product lines and engineering directorates in the area of supplier performance, generating and driving supply base alignment with Raytheon’s technology roadmaps, and leading strategy that assures flawless execution and drives affordability from our supply base.


The candidate will communicate with all levels of the organizations; have business acumen to lead and immediately connect contractual, operational, sourcing, and technical concerns that may impact a supplier’s ability to perform; and is able to proactively identify and resolve problems efficiently and effectively. 


This is a remote work arrangement with expected travel to supplier locations approximating 50%.


Particular supplier locations currently based in Arkansas, Alabama, Arizona, Florida, West Virginia, Maryland, and Utah but responsibilities may expand through other locations. Applicant preferred to be in the vicinity of supplier and / or program office location and frequently be onsite at supplier locations.


What You Will Do:
Manage resources to complete core Supplier Engineering tasks including:
Supplier requests for product and process changes
Supplier engagements related to capability, capacity, opportunity and risk 
Technical evaluations in support of cost and price analysis
Communicate and translate the technical data package to suppliers
Manage product non-conformances, drive root cause, and corrective action
Prioritize and execute improvement opportunities and tactical work 
Communicate the technical health of our suppliers to stakeholders
Mentor and grow section leaders and individual contributors
Support travel as needed up to 50%


Qualifications You Must Have:
A STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) bachelor’s degree and minimum 12 years prior relevant experience
Demonstrated technical experience developing factories and/or suppliers to improve performance and affordability
Leadership/Management experience, 
Demonstrated experience in constraint management and lean manufacturing principles

The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance


Qualifications We Prefer:
Master’s Degree in the following Majors: Business Administration, Computer
Ability to build relationships, work and lead in a cross functional environment, interface with varying levels of management and work with multi-functions including supply chain, quality & mission assurance, program management, operations, and supply base
Strong analytical skills and the ability to apply critical thinking throughout the supplier performance and oversight process
killed in communications, team building, conflict resolution and relationship management to create an effective partnering environment that includes credibility, respect and trust.
Demonstrated ability to lead and present executive level reviews and briefings
Ability to work independently with minimal oversight
Proficiency in tools and systems including Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint
Strong technical and program management background; preferably with demonstrated success developing creative and innovative solutions for technical and programmatic business challenges
Science/Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Process/Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering, Environmental Engineering or Environmental Science Experience supporting business and functional deliverables
Demonstrated experience working collaboratively in a team-based setting
Working knowledge of the STAMP tool and the SHARP database, PDM, or similar processes and tools
A high degree of business acumen and skill in disseminating information and maintaining confidentiality
Demonstrated problem solving using innovation and ingenuity to reach solutions that are aligned with organizational objectives
Ability to influence others to accept practices and approaches, and ability to communicate and influence executive leadership
Existing active DoD Secret clearance

The salary range for this role is 143,000 USD - 287,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
