Summary of Position

The Supervisor, Revenue Cycle Billing role is responsible for overseeing a team of staff

within a designated area(s) of the overall RCM function. Area(s) may include Billing, Collections/Denials, Cash Posting, Refunds, or other areas as the team evolves. Although the position oversees designated area(s), it is a leadership position on the broader RCM team responsible for guiding all staff in the direction of achieving business goals and priorities in a high volume, fast-paced transactional and client/payer facing environment. One of the objectives of the Supervisor, RCM, will be to focus on Denial Management initiatives. Leaders must work cohesively with their team and peers, as well as with cross-departmental partners to achieve high quality revenue cycle results.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day supervision, direction, and training to a team of direct reports to ensure
  •   operational efficiency, accuracy and achieve performance results within designated     area(s)
  • Collaborate with Client Management team and internal team members to meet RCM team
  • objectives, acting as a subject matter expert in designated area(s)
  • Track open issues and report updates to Leadership team and Client Managers regularly
  • Provide analysis and recommendations for systems/process improvements and for specific
  • issue resolution
  • Responsible for team specific training and development of team members, providing   feedback and monitoring.
  • Query and research claim status
  • Follow up with members, clients, and payers to obtain information as needed
  • Complete and/or request adjustments
  • Research and resolve any open credit balances and/or any open requests for either insurance and/or member refunds
  • Track and report payer violations of prompt payment or adjudication issues
  • Ensure work queue of open claims is actively addressed
  • Support projects as assigned for a variety of RCM initiatives
  • Represent the company to payers, members, and clients in a courteous and professional manner
  • Ensure adherence to HIPAA standards and all other privacy and compliance policies
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications Expected for Position

  • Strong computer skills, including familiarity with RCM software, required (NextGen/Altera preferred)
  • Ability to effectively manage internal and offshore resources
  • Advance proficiency with MS Office Suite products
  • Demonstrated knowledge of healthcare revenue cycle functions
  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing with payers, clients, and team     members
  • Willingness to be flexible and team-oriented
  • Actively supports change, inspires respect and trust
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Highly organized and task-oriented
  • Ability to maintain composure when confronted with fast-paced and stressful situations
  • Bachelor’s degree required (may be substituted with equivalent years of experience)
  • Certified Professional Biller preferred but not required
  • 5 years of RCM or other relevant experience in the healthcare industry required
  • 2-4 years Supervisory experience required

The base salary range for this position is $60,000 - $70,000. In addition to a base salary, this position is eligible for a performance bonus and benefits (subject to eligibility requirements) listed here Teladoc Health Benefits 2024. Total compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to, type of position, location, education level, work experience, and certifications. This information is applicable for all full-time positions.
