Superintendent / HVAC Mechanic - Offsite Locations - Manhattan
As the Superintendent you will inspect, maintain and coordinate activities relating to operations and maintenance of power, heating, cooling, plumbing and fire systems of NYP facilities. You will inspects NYP facilities for deficiencies and performs or coordinates the remediation of such deficiencies. You will monitor and make adjustments to HVAC systems to maintain a comfortable environment and inspect and maintain building systems (HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, Fire alarm / suppression) to ensure proper and optimal performance. You will act as a liaison between NYP staff, landlord and support service groups to address complaints or concerns.
This will oversee the various offsite NYP locations in Manhattan and Queen that are part of NewYork Presbyterian enterprise.
This is a full time flex day position, mainly 7:00am - 3:00pm shift with occasional weekends. This position will be primarily located at an offsite location close to the NYP Manhattan sites
Preferred Criteria
- New York City Fire Department Certificate of Fitness for Fireguard F-60 within one year of hire
- New York City Fire Department Certificate of Fitness for Torch use of Flammable Gases G-60 within one year of hire
Required Criteria
- High School Diploma or GED
- Certification from an accredited technical school in HVAC/R systems
- Minimum 5 years documented experience in maintenance and repair of HVAC/R systems
- EPA certification for recovery of refrigerant
- Thorough knowledge of electrical systems
