Airport Superintendent – Join the CLX Engineering Team!

CLX Engineering is seeking an experienced Superintendent to play a critical role in the success of our airport projects acting as an extension of staff with our client. You will work with autonomy and independence and communicate with CLX Engineering's Program Manager, Director, Project Management, and technical managers as needed. Candidates must be extremely proficient in smooth project mobilization, troubleshooting on-the-go challenges, and driving consistent progress. Your goal? Ensure CLX Engineering is managing subcontractor and vendor relationships, and supporting the completion of projects ending on time, with the highest quality.

This position requires almost 100% travel. At some sites you may stay a week. At other sites, you may stay there for a month or more. When you are not at a site, you are likely working remotely completing reports and administrative paperwork to ensure both internal and external clients know the most up to date status of a project and what is required for successful completion.

What We’re Looking For:

• Extremely strong communication skills, with a focus on professional grammar and document presentation to effectively communicate project status to clients and internal CLX staff.
• Experience in airport baggage handling systems and/or material handling systems.
• Candidates must have enough technical industrial automation experience working with PLCs, conveyors, material handling to make sound decisions working with the vendors and subcontractors.
• Someone who will travel 100% of the time and lives within reasonable commuting distance to a major airport east of the Mississippi or Texas.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage daily on-site operations, coordinating with multiple sub-contractors (mechanical, electrical, controls) to ensure smooth project phases from design to mobilization. This position will work a variety of shifts including night or very early morning to mid-afternoon shifts.
• Monitor project schedules, providing timely feedback to the Project/Program Manager and supporting internal operations meetings.
• Foster professional, collaborative relationships with all contractors, ensuring compliance with safety standards and construction protocols.
• Oversee the quality of installations and ensure that “As-Built” documentation and redline drawings are accurately maintained.
• Work with CLX Engineering leadership and Project Management to determine necessary communication on progress and challenges.

Requirements

• Proven experience with airport baggage handling or material handling systems.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to read and interpret installation drawings and project scopes.
• 30% - 40% travel and live within commuting distance of the Hartsfield Jackson International Airport.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without future sponsorship.
