The Supervisor, ADA Unit is responsible for the overall success and supervision of ADA Specialists by driving solution-based thinking in a demanding environment.

Comprehensive management of ADA Accommodation lifecycle including: Initial Request, Medical Certification, Essential Job Functions, Interactive Process, Evaluation of RTW Accommodations, Employer's Decision to Accommodate, Follow-up for Success, On-going Communication, System Tracking and Robust Reporting.
Essential functions:
- Ensures the ADA team provides accurate processing of assigned accommodations.
- Ensures the ADA team is current with all practices; identifies and develops action plans for team/individual career objectives.
- Conducts routine file reviews to ensure quality and production goals are achieved.
- Performs key role in staff assessment, selection, development, skills training and application of new processes and technology.
- Hire and train new employees.
- Provides ongoing coaching and delivers feedback to staff on a regular basis.
- Identifies when performance management is necessary and follows through with the Employee and Human Resources until resolution of the performance plan.
- Responsible for making employment decisions.
- Regularly meets with staff to discuss new procedures, trends identified in quality reviews, reinforce training efforts, communicate results, share information or problems, and provide a forum for team building.
- Develops, models, and maintains effective working relationships with external and internal contacts.
- Supports new client implementations covering the ADA BP Document and ensuring Matrix’s best practice is presented to the client.
- Completes all new client training on co-shared system use and process.
- Completes annual performance reviews timely with a fair assessment of employees’ performance.
- Routinely coordinates trainings with legal team to educate staff on current / changing ADA legislation. Serves as a Subject Matter Expert on all things related to accommodations.
- Maximizes utilization of an electronic tracking system to manage case data; runs routine and ad hoc reports and dashboards.
- Monitors applicable performance metrics of ADA team; makes adjustment recommendations as necessary.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, COMPETENCIES, AND/OR RELATED EXPERIENCE
*or equivalent experience gained from any combination of formal education, on-the-job training, and/or work and life experience*
Education, Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s in Vocational Rehab Counseling or related field preferred.
- 5+ years’ overall experience Employee Relations, Labor Relations, Absence Management, Return To Work Services required, with minimum 2 years’ focus in ADA and FMLA
- 2+ years’ supervisory experience including performance management, training, mentoring, and delegation preferred.
- Must possess in-depth, current knowledge of statutes, regulations and guidance issued by the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) pertaining to ADA accommodations.
- Strong problem solver, with ability to make educated business decisions in areas such as labor contracts, local practices, federal and state statutes.
- Strong organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize work and handle multiple tasks simultaneously and under pressure.
- Proven ability to work well in a high visibility, public oriented environment, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Sitting for prolonged periods of time, frequently standing, walking distances up to one mile, bending, crouching, kneeling, reaching, occasionally lifting 25lbs, extensive typing, picking up and holding small objecting and otherwise using primarily the fingers rather than the entire hand. Employee is required to have visual acuity sufficient to perform activities such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing notes; viewing a computer terminal and extensive reading. Employee is required to have hearing sufficient to understand verbal instruction and answer telephones.
