Summary of Job (brief description)

Join Soleno Therapeutics, Inc. as a Summer Intern and gain hands-on experience in the pharmaceutical industry while contributing to meaningful projects. Intern will be aligned with Soleno’s Commercial Analytics and Operations function. Throughout the internship, you will be responsible for leading the integration of advanced analytics to drive actionable insights for commercial strategies.


The ideal candidate is proactive, eager to learn, and able to multitask effectively in a team-oriented environment. This internship offers a unique chance to develop professional skills while playing a key role in advancing Soleno’s mission.

Responsibilities

  • Translate business questions into analytical techniques (regression, classification, NLP, etc.) and interpret the outcomes of analytical models into meaningful business insights and actionable recommendations. 
  • Apply advanced statistical and machine learning techniques and concepts (model selection, hypothesis testing, statistical inference, etc.) based on real-world application experience. 
  • Assist in data preprocessing, feature engineering, and exploratory data analysis. 
  • Present key insights, models, and analytical tools to senior leadership, turning complex data into actionable recommendations. 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including commercial analytics and other departments.  


Qualifications

  • Enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program.
  • Major in one of the following backgrounds: Data Science, Business Analytics, Life Sciences, or related field.
  • Completed coursework in machine learning, data analytics and statistics.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work with large datasets.
  • Proficiency in Python, R, or MATLAB for data analysis and modeling.
  • Experience with data visualization and statistical analysis.
  • Familiarity with using healthcare claims datasets, electronic health records, and specialty pharmacy data in real world evidence and patient level data and advanced analytics – preferably in patient unmet need and care / treatment gap identification, is a plus but not required.


Salary Range: $25/hour for first year Soleno interns and $27/hour for second year Soleno interns
